cracking price for Rocksmith 2014. DLC is a bit expensive if you're not really interested in any of the 'on disc' tracks.
And if you do own the original Rocksmith, it costs an additional £7 to import those tracks and use original Rocksmith DLC in your Rocksmith 2014 game.

Remember, you'll also need ubisoft's Rocksmith 'real tone cable' and a real electric guitar before you can play this game.

It's a steamworks game. You can only get it on steam on the PC.

I would've spent so much money if Rocksmith DLC was included in this!!

Child of Light is amazing, seriously great game. Looks absolutely stunning and it has a great if a bit simplistic battle system.

Assassins Creed IV is freaking awesome as well, looks amazing and has so much content for a single player game, definitely recommend it.

Far Cry 3, Rayman Legends (Buy from GameKeysNow as Buzz stated) and COJ: Gunslinger are also obvious recommendations.

Ah right, mine just had a pickup put in it DIY style so no fancy effects on the guitar for me :P Voted hot btw!

Surprised that there isn't an equivalent of Frets on Fire and Phase Shift for Guitar, my other half loves those games for their electronic drum kit. Apparently there are now 1000+ songs clogging up our HTPC.

Great price, but shame it's UPlay only. Will wait it out for the Steam version to get reduced

Great - been waiting for Rocksmith 2014 to drop below £10 again - cheers! Getting my first guitar next Friday and now have the cable and both Rocksmith games ready to go.

Does anyone know if Rocksmith still requires the cable, or can we use any audio interface with it now? It's one of the things that's been putting me off buying it.

Has anyone got ACIV? I heard it runs like crap. I've got a good comp, gtx780ti i7 4790k, will I get 1080p 60fps maxed out??

I can't see Far Cry 3 being Steam? I bought it a while ago but I've not got around to setting uPlay to install it - if this was a steam version I'd happily buy it!

Cheers. It's a shame really, since the day they remove that limitation is the day I hand over money for the game. **** to buying it if I can't use my high-end lag-free audio interface with it.

There are ways to get around having to use the real tone cable.

You can use a no-cable patch - that lets you use one of your inputs as the cable, it's flaky at best as the game expects to be hearing the rocksmith's bundled real tone cable and not your lag free, setup... or as the case will be for some cheaper low end setups who're not willing or can't afford the cable, poor quality sound and lots of lag.

The 2nd way is to emulate the cable by using one of the 'hacked' drivers for a cheaper USB to 1/4" cable. Again, results may vary depending on the quality of the Chinese cheap USB adapter decide to be using.

I don't bother with either of them, since I have the cable but I'd be worried trying to learn songs if it was the patch/hack applied to the game not performing well, the cheap USB cable etc or my skill that's let letting me progress in the game, and I only say that now because even with the official rocksmith cable I struggled quite a lot to understand just how lightly you had to touch the strings to perform an harmonic.

I'd invest in the USB cable for the game, and know the game is going to work as intended with it.*

* as in tended, but you still have to tab out and turn the recording volume up in the windows control panel.

There was a project where a guy was working on using a real guitar in a rock band/guitar hero/frets on fire style before any of the Rocksmith type games came out. I was using for about a year, then the project closed and he just left a message saying he's been offered something he'd be silly to refuse.

Now, we have Bandfuse and Rocksmith pop up about a year later. Licensed technology or was he just paid simply just to not develop the free version ?
Rocksmith 2014 is well worth the price as a teaching tool, simply covering the basics in the game will have paid for itself vs a single proper lesson where you'd be lucky if you to even play a song.

The DLC on the other hand, and more so the import tool, is a mostly a rip off. I already own the original Rocksmith on steam, not sure why I should be paying £7 to play the same songs in Rocksmith 2014. Probably licensing fees they couldn't get around as it's not proof of ownership worries like on the xbox.
The DLC songs are expensive and it's unlikely they'll be on a huge discount that makes buying them difficult, more so when you're not all too confident in playing already because you really don't know what you're getting yourself in for. That sweet as rift sounds easy, but it can be the bane of your guitar experience for a long time to master it.
.. and i'm ranting. lol.

Enjoy rocksmith, great game.
