Bird and Christmas, how could you go wrong? ;-) Thanks for the pointer to a good price, and the heads up for how to try and keep another factorite from the topspot at Christmas. Great song, it actualy does have a message in there!

I did this last year, I don't really care any more. Plus I'm already sick of that song (that Full Metal Jacket popularised)
#8
The only version worth listening to is by the Ramones - brilliant!
#9
who cares - a vote for this is a vote against corporate bulls**t

I don't think this even counts towards the charts...

You could be right - buy it from somewhere like amazon, hmv, itunes - then you will know it counts
#17
I don't think it counts against the official chart either - I think someone has put this site out there, trying make a quick buck off of the "bring down x-factor" craze.

And if that is the case, its hillarious!

Anyone got any evidence these downloads count?

49p @ AMAZON and it'll count.

I'm getting a bit bored of this now! is this really a hot uk deal??
#20
I'm not sure if it's a track you would worry about it on quality bnut the we7 will be 320kbps, and all amazon purchases are 256kbps.. unless they've changed things.. but then for this song.. I really wouldn't worry :)
#21
Should amend your Link Zarait as that link is invalid

Says buy from here

SURFIN' BIRD vendors: iTunes, Play, HMV, Amazon, eMusic, 7Digital, Tunetribe (DO NOT buy the track more than 3 times from each vendor or your purchases will not be chart eligible) DON'T FORGET TO GIFT OTHER EMAIL ADDRESSES ;-)
Go you Bird <3

I dont mind the odd joke here and there but it seems as though the site has 50% deals, 50% jokes sometimes. or "deals" that get hot because theres a picture of a half naked woman when the deal itself aint all that.

RSPB joins Radio DJ to support Christmas number one campaign
Last modified: 09 December 2010

You'd expect a conservation charity just to get involved in campaigns to save our seas, trees and bees.

But here at the RSPB, we're branching out and adding our support to a campaign for this year’s Christmas number one song.

We're backing a movement by a member of the public, Birdman Jack, to get The Trashmen's 'Surfin' Bird' track to the number one spot.

To show our support, members of staff at our UK Headquarters in Bedfordshire have taken to the dance floor to share some unique moves with the help of our gardener and a giant bird

Ha ha I love the sanctimonious posters around these topics.

It would definitely be more amusing in Surfin Bird got #1, especially as it gets people so wound up.

However just a little note to everyone saying how "rubbish" last years song was. I bet you're lapping up tracks by the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Tinie Tempah and whatever else Radio 1 play. Please don't criticise other music when your taste of music is as wide as a gnats genitals.

Last years song was rubbish 'in my opinion'.This song is something my 5 year old son thinks is funny-nothing more.
I dont care who goes to Number 1.But just think there are millions of more songs better than this.If we are putting childish songs up why not campaign for Mr Blobby, its as daft as it.

Wasn't this craaaazy stunt tried last year? Cant remember it changing the world particularly, other than people spent money on a record they didn't really want. Everyone else still bought X Factor anyway. Winner = Record companies - twice over, losers = Joe Public. Great - lets all do it again, with an even worse song this time, and less originality.
I've decided to also pay some more money to show how much I dislike other TV shows - Im now stood at my front door burning a tenner, that'll show 'em, the fools!!! Must surely be a Hot Deal for that..

Huge coverage last year for x-factor not just being automatic number one.
No this will not change the world, but 49p and "have a bit of fun".
Besides all that Peter Griffin came to me in my dreams and said "Have you heard the word ? "
Enough said :p
