This game has completely eluded me. Are these good games or just a way of spending £20. BTW I voted hot :-)
Oh well I bought them. I need to try my new xbox one elite controller on the PC
i never got around to playing Bayonetta myself, but kinda looks like Devil May Cry so can't be bad.
Vanquish though, wow, what a classic. it's amazing. good old fashioned mad action from start to finish. The movement and combat are brilliant and fun to play.

Bayonetta is from the Director of the Devil May Cry games (well the early ones anyway). So it's very DMC like, hence the same style of combat/platforming. It's fantastic and well worth the time if you're a hack and slash fan. I had never played Bayonetta before the PC version (despite owning it on 360) and fell in love with the game, I can't wait to try Vanquish for the first time later this month.

Does this include American Nightmare? I'm confused...

WARNING . The description is incorrect. I'm pretty sure this does not include the extra episodes, I nearly bought it yesterday from indiegala for a similar price, until I checked on steam. It only includes the soundtrack and a pdf story as extras. You need to purchase the franchise edition for the extra episodes dlc. I'm waiting for the price drop on steam to buy that instead.

To be honest I can't even see mention of the extra episodes on Steam! Got a link?

yeah, sorry I got a bit confused. hence why I deleted my post. the two episodes described are included ... they were part of the original game. it's American nightmare dlc which isn't, and is only included in the franchise pack via steam store ... which should be reduced around late afternoon our time.

it's an excellent game but my God do I dislike Alan. he's the whingiest and most miserable character I've ever used in a video game. I didn't mind losing on some parts of the game just to shut him up...
This game competes with The Last of Us for the best written and most compelling of all time. Brilliant game and I think I will play it again later on today...

Yeah, the first was multi-platform, but Nintendo funded the development of the sequel. With them recently becoming open to using their IPs in mobile games, I suppose there's a very small possibility we might see a PC port some day, but Xbox / Playstation is incredibly unlikely.

Highly unlikely, as Nintendo funded the development.
Great to see this port though, Bayonetta is one of the best games I've ever played. Stone-cold classic.

Ah bummer, I guess that explains why I thought the series was a nintendo exclusive, I haven't heard of it being on others.

I've heard this is one of the better optimised games as of late. Runs very well on lower end hardware.
It does, runs on a variety of machines the fox engine is great.

It really puts a lot of developers to shame considering this was pretty much their first PC title.
Aye, 4K is easy with this.

Great price. Much more difficult than Demon's Souls and Dark Souls though. Too dull and not captivating enough to go back to. This game made me give up on the Souls series.

While I didn't find it harder than Dark Souls, I do think that it didn't have anywhere near the spark the first two souls games had. Bloodborne was where From's outings returned to greatness for me.

Now, having said that, I did hear that the best bits of Souls 2 were in fact the DLC additions and the remixed areas. For anyone who's played both versions, is there any truth to this that'd make it worth a second look for someone who was disappointed in its initial outing?

Waiting for some kind of deal on the PS4 version because the launch price is outrageous... I got Zestiria on steam, but want a true console experience this time. Tales games just feel better on console :(
Rojo66
I would also expect a sale on Zesteria and it's DLC when this is released.

Really, why? Both Symphonia and Zestiria were just in the Steam winter sale a couple of weeks ago, and they're both currently in the Bandai Namco Humble Bundle sale. If you haven't got them already, wouldn't it be best to get them now while they're still on sale? They're both 75% off. True they might go on offer again soon, but it may only be 50% off next time.

Good price but I think I'll wait till it inevitably drops. I bought Zesteria but haven't even played it yet even though I bought it a long time ago!

I have to say it's nice that the Tales series is being launched on Steam so quickly now. When I was younger in uni and not working full time I really wished JRPGs were on the PC but there were hardly any mainstream JRPGs. Now that they're on there I have no time. :(

same here. bought both previous titles of tales series but haven't got the chance to play it :(

Collectors edition should hold value if you can get one

There isn't a collectors edition for PC/Steam, unfortunately. This is the first Tales collectors edition I won't be buying because it's PS4 only.

Couldn't agree more Haydn I'm on my fourth race now, chaos and about 95 hrs in still coming back for more. It's so clean and polished and the number of mods available is staggering. I'm using the steel faith campaign mod which enhances play imho. Going VC next and then probably WE, beastmen doesn't have the appeal for me just yet.

Agree with your advice buy the main game which is good for 100+ hrs and the Dlc is there only if you think it's worth it (for me it is).

oh man I haven't heard of that mod! Definitely going to look it up, Ive only really been using cosmetic mods up to this point, may be time to venture out!

Just adding My two cents...

IMO the game is well worth the money. At first the idea of 4 playable races put me off, but after playing I can see why there were so few.

each race is so vastly different, now I love total war games but this one pointed out to me that all previous iterations didn't really have that much content (they just felt like it as all playable factions were just re-skins)

if you are a fan of total war or warhammer, hell even slightly inclined towards strategy games, I'd jump on this. Save purchasing the dlc until you've beaten each of the Base races campaigns (dwarves took me over 20 hours so it should take a while)

Don't bother with this, get Assetto Corsa instead if you want a sim rather than an arcade racer.
Great find. Well worth it if you picked up one of the currys g29/g920 deals. Very playable with a controller but much more fun with a wheel.
Also added some life to my old dk2.
Spent 19 hours on this game last weekend after buying a wheel... Love it!
Kinda wish it had more road cars though.
A must have for those with an Oculus Rift DK2/CV1 or a HTC Vive :)

Is certainly my fave VR title currently.
