Forget that last comment - your more a sponger then an actual dealer' here for any savings but no deals where you can actually say - that was me I posted that' I saved a few people money and contributed to the site. The case rests ;)
Terrible, always a shame when a rebuttal includes "you don't post deals" here, maybe everyone should post one to be able to see the site? The majority of users do not post deals. The majority of visitors do not post comments.
The last time I checked I had posted 82 deals so not sure what he's on about!

Their Trust Pilot page is not so good, 5.5/10:https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.insight.com
Hardly any companies look good on Trust Pilot. Even the highly regarded John Lewis gets an awful rating.
But they are sharing their experiences for johnlewis.com, not the high street store. Since when as johnlewis.com been "highly regarded"?

Okay then.
Look at Tesco direct. They are great with customer service in every instance I've had to contact them.
Amazon is also one of the best out there and it only gets a 5.0

People are more likely to write a review when they have a bad experience.

are 1440p freesnyc monitors worth it? I as because IPS panels only available for 1440p, not 1080p at all in the market.
144hz IPS monitors cost small fortune.
yeah, i decided to just get a TN one for now and wait for the tech to become cheaper eventually. I dream of £250 1440p 144Hz screens in the next year or so.

Benq XL2411z is solid, but a littlebit dated monitor. Viewsonic beat it with its extra features like freesync and usb 3.0 hub. If asus was 144hz I wouldn't hesitate to take VG245H.

Amazon has reduced the price of this monitor to £302.58 effectively having me 1 on order (while thinking if I really want to upgrade from my brand new 27" HP E272Q to 32"). There is 1 more left.

The response time is a bit high for my liking and would love to see the absolute input lag but other than that this seem a like a sweet in terms of price and resolution at this size. Can't believe I'm still stuck with my 24 and 27" like a peasant.

It's going to be high due to the panel and the fact this is more designed for work than gaming

The Samsung 32" at £266.39 looks good
http://www.uk.insight.com/en-gb/productinfo/monitors-and-displays/0005850958-00000001

If not using for gaming, primarily only using for work, browsing etc will this be a better buy ?

Not at 1080p it's not. I'd go 27" max at that resolution and they can be picked up for about £80 less

1080p res is a bit too low for a screen that size. 1440p at 32 is sweet spot. i have a 27" 1080 and thats pushing it really!

Hi
I'm about to buy a HP slate 12, however, I wanted to know if you could delete files on the sd card like normal within apps. I know Jelly Bean Google restricted the SD card access to write and write, however, I'm not sure if this problem is still there. I like to buy the Slate for reading comics, so I be using Perfect Viewer and the last thing I want to find out is that the app cannot delete files from the sd card because that be a nightmare.
Thanks
I installed the Perfect Viewer app, the PDF plugin and downloaded some sampled comics onto the SD card. Everything soars to work fine, including deleting of files from the SD card.

bums! I can tell you the 128gb sd hereYour text here doesn't work
The HP website states that it supports cards up to 32GB, so I assume they are referring to using SDHC cards. However, I am using a 64GB SDXC card, and it's working perfectly. It could be down to the format of the SDCX memory card, which is most likely exFAT which the HP Slate may not be able to read - see here. Formatting the card to FAT32 standard may well cure the problem you are having, but I believe that the maximum individual file size is then 4GB.
This is a useful utility to reformat memory cards - SD Formatter 4.0 for SD/SDHC/SDXC
thanks for that but there is no option to fat32 it with that program, maybe not possible
This should do it.
Thanks. Again a bit odd, it didn't work. I'm not sure if it's the usb adaptor causing the problem though but I have no other way of interfacing with the pc
Does your USB adapter support SDXC cards? It could well be the case that it only works with SD and SDHC. Can you read and write data to the 128GB card in its current format?
Yeah I can. Bit of a bummer, now I have huge capacity on my phone haha

Well, that's my grandparents sorted. I bought them a Mac Mini in 2006 as they were getting to that stage where dealing with antivirus messages etc was just getting a bit beyond them and they found windows complicated in general.
Since having the Mac they've never been happier, they never lose their documents because of spotlight and find the interface easy to use.
It's stil going strong after daily use for 9 years, not many off the shelf PC's that you can say that about. It is feeling a bit slow to me now, as it still sells for around £100 on eBay I think I'll just trade it in and upgrade them.
As they're now in their 80's I imagine that this will be the last computer they will ever need.
There, right there, that's a script for an award winning 'feel good' movie with a twist end.
Less of a twist and more of a "well that was obvious" kind of ending.

Having spent a lifetime messing with PC's - upgrading RAM, HD, Viruses, etc. I bought one of these and am content that I no longer need to waste time with those 'Windows' type problems
So being able to upgrade your RAM and Hard Drive is a problem? Bizarre!
Only if you don't need to. Be honest, you wouldn't keep 'upgrading' things if you didn't need to.

I think you’ve missed the point, it’s just about future proofing. People buying low end computers are unlikely to want to change them that often so being able to upgrade the RAM from 4GB in say 3 to 5 years would be useful. If you don’t need to then no problem but I see no downside to having that flexibility.
With what I can only speculate is quite an underpowered and underwhelming processor and the talk of non user upgrade able memory I have no regrets having bought a second hand 2012 model Mac Mini about 9 months ago. It got beefed up to 16gb and a 240gb SSD and is impressively rapid.

I'd advise anyone looking for an i5 version to consider second hand over new. They're actually not that difficult to open up and upgrade and there are some good bargains to be had.

Now a Mac mini with an i7 and iris pro graphics....that'd be a tempting upgrade at the right money :)
Macs do run better than PCs but the difference is vastly exaggerated because people rarely compare like for like systems. 4GB RAM is not enough if you want; 2 screens, more than 3 tabs open per screen, any kind of media editing.

Unless all you do is basic internet browsing and document editing, you will need a machine that can have RAM upgraded. And if you are in that position, you should probably get a chromebook.

Favourable review in PCPro Magazine this month too. I purchased the deal with Argos (including keyboard) for £179. Received notification that my claim for £50 back had been approved last week. They have quite a back-log as they have been swamped with claims. Not a bad device, quite nippy. Plastic screen will be prone to scratching, keyboard not fantastic, can't be used on your lap particularly well.

£50 Trade in is still on going, ends 23:59 (GMT) on 31st March 2015 according to https://tablettradeup.com/uk/en/pages/linx/terms, the tab itself is available from Very at £159, if you open a credit account with them, you get £30 discount applied which doesn't show up on the invoice so shouldn't affect cash back claim. You can choose to pay the tablet off in one payment, so if you Trade in a tablet that qualifies, and the cash back pays out (mine just has) and you qualify for the £30 new account, that brings the price down to £79 and for this price it's a steal...just saying

Here's a link to the nbc review:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-HP-EliteBook-Folio-9470m-Ultrabook.87571.0.html

It's a good quality business-grade laptop let down like so many other business laptops by a rather poor screen which aside from being matt doesn't have any other redeeming features. But then HP is pretty bad at giving the option for a decent screen on the smaller Elitebooks (people have tried adding the IPS panel from the Lenovo X220/X230 to the Elitebook 2570p without any success as the cables don't fit - so I assume the same applies here).

was worried the trade in was going to be quite restrictive. but requirement seems to be only that it's 7" and over, and working. no makes/models/OS's specified..... may be time to trade in that playbook.

Read this.

As someone posted in another thread on these, the terms on their website do not restrict too much despite what they emailed me, but cashback is one of those things that is never guaranteed, so tread carefully.

thanks for that - your list shows 'RM' as a manufacturer, never heard of them, suppose it's RIM?

They still do :-(
If there is no list of makes of tablets of what you can trade up , and then they refuse to accept your tradeup tablet because your tablet is not on there list then it makes there terms an conditions void! As they have not been open with there terms, also the terms do not explain if the price you paid for your new linx would make a difference to whether you can trade up, I notice that most of the sellers they have mentioned have sale prices on these items, which is why I purchased mine, staples £79.99 for a 10" then take of the £50 = £29.99 after I have sent back my tadeup.Anyone had problems for any of the reasons above?

does the keyboard take up the micro usb port?

if you look at the pics in these 2 links "no", the usb is on the left when your looking at the screen, and the KY connects by the looks of it by one of those magnetic links like the playbook in the dock

yup, the keyboard is connected by sprung 'pogo pins'.
They're a standard fit across a range of tablets, so also may find future accessories (the keyboard isn't unique to the linx for example) and if some of the pins were for power and able to charge in a dock like the playbook then that would be great. I haven't been able to find a pin diagram anywhere though.

Thanks for that was not sure if the connectors were the same or the name of them, but yes would be great if you could charge via that connector, I have tried looking but the info is so sparse :(

if you look at the pics in these 2 links "no", the usb is on the left when your looking at the screen, and the KY connects by the looks of it by one of those magnetic links like the playbook in the dock

I remember Insight not honoring a 3Tb drive that was only misprices by about £20 so I imagine you've no hope with this
the op has less hope posting it on here. When the orders go through the roof and alarm bell somewhere will start ringing, they will realised, cancel all orders, and that will be the end of that. Misprices OP are not deals, they are either a way of boasting that you got one delivered for that price, or they are a way of committing order suicide by condemning your order tto the fate of cancellation, and just wasting the time of those who decide to have a punt on something thats doomed from the get go.

Misprices are the best deals of all. I was able to get the htc m8 for £260 from o2 because someone posted a misprice.

Link no longer working and my order has disappeared form the orders section.

I have raised a customer services case - I do have screen shots and emails of my order acceptance.

Will keep you posted
see the sales of goods act and an invitation to treat. until they ship your offer, they dont have to do jack iro honouring it. Its the same as being in a shop and the ticket price being wrong. 9 times out of 10 they would honour it, but they can legally refuse to if its a genuine mistake. now if they were doing it all the time, it would be a different matter, and trading standards would have to get involved.

Was contacted yesterday. Item cannot be obtained.
Ordered, but got a cancellation emailed saying that this "item should not be be on our website and is being removed". So not likely to honour to anyone who ordered it.
what does pricing type 'demo' mean? is this keyboard used for demo and thus not brand new?
Obviously a misprice because every other product is more or less the overpriced Microsoft rrp. £64 for a surface pro mains adapter!! Really fancy a core i5 pro 3 but Mrs topazz would use me gonads for ear rings if she found out I'd spent that sort of money, when I already have a 64gb pro 1. Good luck in getting the keyboard though.

Why is this cold?

It is a great saving, if its honoured.

I'm guessing:

1) People don't understand the Surface Pro
2) They think £109 or even £57 is significantly too much to be spending on a backlit well engineered keyboard and track-pad.
3) Have had issues with Insight?
4) Don't like the colour blue
5) Have trouble understanding the concept of voting for deals that are good value, not just because you don't like the product, or it is too expensive for you.
6) Is not Turkey Dinosaurs.

My brother got the dell 27" 1440 monitor the other day and its lovely to use so I imagine a 4k screen would be amazing, bit unsure I'd want to go for a TN panel again though.
TN panels have evolved a lot:

(Not the same model, but it's a TN 4k display)

Wooh tempted too! Hardly ever watch movies but would like a 4K monitor to use Photoshop etc.
Still way abover my budget, hope prices keep coming down - high-end smartphones have a higher resolution panel than 22" nowadays, crazy!
Prices slowly coming down and competition is welcome.
Now this is tempting.

Insight have confirmed this is not a POE switch, their description was wrong.
Is this the wrong product description? As the product code is the non POE version

They also have the POE Version listed with the correct product code at a higher price

Not bad though for giga poe switch. States it supports 802.3af which means the ports are capable of upto 15.4W which is about 4ports. If all ports are used. 8W per port is satisfactory for voip.
Never mind, looks like its 64watts which isn't a lot.
Any idea what the POE budget is on these? Can't see it on the specs.
