Why would it be a misprice? what is the price normally.

I think the case on this is a bit gross looking
#3
If this isn't a misprice this is the best PC deal i have seen in the last 10 years and i am buying one.

The CPU costs over £600 by itself and the pair of VGA cards would cost another £450.
#5
Well please explain as i dont know that much about PC prices etc .....is this better then the dell one the other week?

agreed about the case...

its probably a misprice because the graphics cards alone would sell for more than they are charging for the whole thing....

Oh right thanks u 2 , i may just get it , any cashback sites with this?

I wonder why its being voted cold then if its so good?
#8
Please help, I am just about to order one of these to replace my current desktop.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't ?

It should be selling for over £2,000 so it’s such an obvious misprice that there’s close to zero chance of getting one of these especially if they get a surge of orders today. :whistling:

Ask the people who voted cold ;)

lol , you guys are nuts ,

THERE IS A 0 PERCENT CHANCE THEY WILL HONOUR THIS ,

but waste your time if you like
lol
#12
I suspect at the very least they've left a '1' off the front of the price.

Using they're system builder it looks likely this is what has happened...

Dont come with a operating system lol.

Nah like everything else i order with misprice it always gets cancelled
#14
btw computer geeks does anyone know which is better 32 bit or 64 bit windows as dell only sent me 32 bit im wondering if they sent me a cheaper version?
#15
Which OS is best? I'm currently using XP and using it as part of a home network including macs. Just using for general home duties (web, office, photo and video editing as well as video coding).
#16
Im using 32 bit at moment , had no issues with it and ive heard lots of probs with 64 bit but not sure if these have been fixed?
Wouldnt bother ordering this though as it will get cancelled
#17
Shame. I got excited. I'm looking for a good spec at a decent price. I don't think I could afford the real price!

Who really needs a PC this powerful though , whats it for , just to play games on it?

Also like most Pcs want it be out of date in a years time?
#20
Oh I wish this was honoured :(
banned#21
Yes, and dont bother ordering it. They are already being cancelled.
#22
The 32bit version of Vista has a 3gig RAM limit , 64bit doesn't.
#23
Thats because more then likely some jerk rang up

Strange they haven't corrected the website yet...could be cynical and think it's just done on purpose to get free advertising on sites like this. Then again, with their level of customer support probably no-one there knows how to change it.

lol , yup i was thinking the same thing :whistling:

To be honest seems a lot of price mistakes happen just to attract customers as they full well know they build it in there t&c for any such error.

also seem to notice most price mistakes happen on weekends

Maybe we need to stop posting them and just totally ignore them .
#26
This is cold it doesnt even come with an OS! :whistling: :giggle:

As for 32 or 64 bit versions I would personally stick with 32bit versions as you can get a lot more software that will run on it, with 64 bit a lot of software will NOTrun on it as it hasnt been developed for 64bit.

Its a catch 22 scenario software developers dont inves in developing 64bit software as the market share of 64 bit operating systems is so low, and people dont buy 64bit versions of operating systems as the software available is limited.
#28
They should be forced to honor this if they don't change the incorrect price as shown on their site, as its false advertising.:whistling:
#29
yup i took a copy of the website; if this is the case anybody could advertise anything and then say: oh sorry, its an error; do you want to pay 2000 pound more?

well see what happens otherwise a few mails to the fair traiding standars maybe?

if a doctor makes an error; he gets sued etc. if they make an error: ?

It’s a Sunday so it may just be that they don’t have anyone on hand to update the site; the store isn’t even open today.

You have zero chance so don’t waste your time. Mistakes happen and companies are rightly covered so that they don’t suffer unduly from morally bankrupt people trying to take advantage of an error.

Yeah, because a doctor killing someone through negligence is very similar to a PC being mispriced.

then they should check what they put on the net, or will we see "beta" stores soon? #please enjoy our site but we cannot promise that the prices are accurate. Just order and see, maybe they are, maybe they arent. Or just take a 30 mile drive and we will tell you if you can return empty handed #

that was quick just had a phone cal to say order will be cancelled ;(

64 bit is BUT and its a big BUT - driver support is less than ideal for 64 bit Windows. Depends what use you are using the PC for. If you play games (and suspect you do for reading this thread)
you may find that the games may not be compatible with 64 bit.

Not all devices that you buy will have driver support. The 64 bit allows more memory to be accessed and would be slightly faster for business use - but 32 bit is what most people end up installing for gaming and the driver support - hope this helps.

How many times do we have hear "if they are advertising at that price they have to sell it at that price"?

Firstly there is usually in their terms E&OE (errors and ommisions excepted).

Secondly there is the part of trade called invitation to treat which is not legally binding in itself.

Thirdly if something is such an obvious misprice as this where the graphics or the processor on their own are worth more than this price on their own you have diddly squat to fall back on.

If this was your company would you want to watch several items (my guess is quite a few have ordered at this price in the hope it slipped through the net) leave your premises with a £2k loss on each, all down to a typo? It happens get over it!!!

Depends - if you are happy with XP - continue with it. Vista is nice - lots of bells and whistles depending on what you are doing. Upgrading a PC that has XP to Vista - you will notice a performance hit (depending on your hardware and the version of Vista that you install) that might not make it worthwhile. You could always upgrade to a Linux OS - that would also be interoperable with your Macs. There are some good free apps for Linux that would do the duties that you want.

You will get another 2-3 years at least out of XP - service pack 3 is out soon.

Erm - not quite - for the technical breakdown - http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000811.html

Depends on how you have your PC set up - back to the old DOS x86 architecture problems with the reserved memory space etc. (well not exactly - but similar!)

Theoretically Vista can access 4Gb memory using the 32 bit addressing but you probably wont get it. :x

Anyone that thinks that a £2,000 PC that is accidentally listed for less than £500 is worth driving 30 miles to try and buy at the incorrect price might as well spend the £6 petrol money on lottery tickets; at least then you’d have a very small chance of getting a result.

There own t&c state : 1.2 No contract exists between you and the Supplier for the sale of any goods until the Supplier has received and accepted your order and the Supplier has received payment in full (in cleared funds). Once the Supplier does so, there is a binding legal contract between us.

.3 By way of clarification, an acknowledgement of your order will be sent to you via e-mail when you place your order, but acceptance of your offer to buy the goods will not take place until after your payment is taken and you receive your acceptance e-mail. It is at this point that a binding legal contract is created and any contract is subject to these Terms and Conditions.

So i take it if they charge your card and u get a second email then you have a legal right to the goods?
