Showing as 'In stock' on the website but 'Out of stock' when placing an order. Not sure whether they're all gone.
#12
crap no in-line volume control....
#13
I got these from DABS for £35 a couple of days ago - and they are a massive improvement from the usual Sennheiser CX/PX range that are regularly on offer here (and so they should be); and noticeably better than the Klipsch and Shure earphones that are in the £30-£50 price range.

if only they weren't the iPhone version :(
#15
They are currently Out of Stock, but order taken.

Anybody know if the mic will work with other phones? I'd like to use a pair of these with a HTC Desire, but I think I'd rather buy a non mic version if the mic won't work with it.

Also, anybody know if having the mic would distract from the sound quality or have any other negative effect on these earphones?

It looks like a standard 3.5 mm jack. So it should work with any device which uses that input for the microphone. I don't see where it says they're a 'iPhone' version, it just says it works with an iPhone, as all headphone description seem to do.
#18
It's been tailored for the iPhone (or any smartphone) because it's got an inline mic.

I won't be using them with a phone. I heard the call quality isn't great but the musical sound quality is supposed to be very good at 3 or 4 times the price.

standard 3.5 mm jack doesn't mean it work with any device, i.e. my dr. dre solo hd only works with my iphone but not my blackberry (neither the music nor microphone). hope this helps.

Hi madcap

Two questions for you if you don't mind, will the mic work with a htc desire and will audio work with the desire?

Many thanks!

Why expired? They are still accepting orders!

I expired it mate. They are out of stock. This is play.com we're talking about. The order will just sit there forever in your outstanding orders section. Try it though you might get lucky. The deal is expired.

I got the SuperFi 5vi last week from the Dabs.com for £41 including delivery and use them on HTC Desire and can conifrm that the mic works fine, but the control works exclusively with iPhones in a sense that the answer button on the cable doesnt work with the Desire. So you have to still answer the call on the phone, pity they havent made it compatibile, but otherwise recommended.

Thanks nieuk for replying to my questions - really useful feedback. One more question - if you were to buy UE5 earphones again would you buy the ones you have or the version without the mic?

Mine arrived last night, really really not impressed with them. I've been using a set of Goldring GX200 (I think that's what they are anyway). I got them free with a subscription of T3 about 18 months ago. They blow these headphones out of the water. The UE ones just don't have any bass at all, they sound quite tinny.

So now's the tricky thing, will Play take returns just because I don't like them?? Obviously I've opened them and used them so not sure what their returns policy would be.

If not it could be an Ebay job.

Thanks for the review, but don't get rid of them after one listen - they may improve with burn-in:
