Don't be taken in by the low price on these 'laptops' - Someone I know made the mistake of buying one for a Christmas present for a 13yr old, I sold it on ebay in the end and they went out and bought an Acer Aspire.

This runs Windows C.E, which is not the same as the operating system found on most computers, its unusable.
You may be able to use some websites, but not all. Youtube wouldn't work without using a different program which makes it a real pain which is what most kids want nowadays (And facebook).

You're better off saving a bit more for a netbook with a real operating system such as Windows XP if you're not familiar with computers, as it would pay off in the long run with lastability as the kid gets older. The one my friend bought was utter "useless". If you are familiar with computers, then you know what you'll be getting when you buy this.

Hope it helps, please don't just see the price and jump in and buy as you'll be disappointed :)

It's not mine - and it's still COLD

This is rubbish! If you're that desperate for something with these specs (not sure why you would be!) then pay £30 less @ Maplin for a grade B.

my mobile phone is almost as powerful as this. infact it might be more powerful lol

As long as the website hasn't got any 'Flash'. If it has (like 99% of websites kids want to view have), then it''s useless!

I was asked round to a friends house last week to set up a netbook they had bought for their daughters birthday..... you guessed it! It was a Windows CE jobby. My heart sank when I saw that. I had to tell them it wouldn't be able to run facebook, game sites, etc. They were gutted but thankful they hadn't waited until her birthday to give it her. These things are aimed at parents buying for theirs kids to access the net and lets face it, EVERY kid who gets one will want to access 'Flash based websites'. These CE netbooks are gonna leave them more than a little deflated!
