The comment says it's a poor purchase with a 1 month warranty. The warranty details for this product state:
Warranty Information
This product has a limited warranty of:
12 months for parts and 12 months for labour.
This manufacturer warranty is provided by HANNSPREE

Looks good to me. Was similar earlier this week for £199 and it went 500+heat. This should do similar.

This is the exact same product that comment #97 was refering to... he rang up, and they said it was only 1 month warranty despite it saying 12 months - as it still does now.

Hmm. OK, misread the comment, thanks for the clarification. Arguably if it's sold advertised as a 12 month warranty, they'd have difficulty shifting that.

3.5% quidco on this, by the way, for those who are interested.

The laptop itself is great, and i'm gutted i missed out at the £195 price - see the link below regarding setting up 3G and BlueTooth, as well as overclocking to around 1.6 to 1.7 GHz...

How does this compare with the following? Is the following worth an extra £70?

I was wondering this myself and after a few google searches it seems that the only difference between SU4100 and SU7300 is the fact that the latter has a 3MB cache and is capable of running VM's.

... SO... you'd have to workout whether the bigger screen and RAM are worth the extra £70.

The processors between the two are remarkably similar in performance (but the Asus has the slight edge). The Asus has what seems to be class-leading battery life, an extra Gb of RAM and has a slightly bigger screen.

So the Asus is a slightly better product, in terms of paper specs.

My own view is that the price of the Asus is well into i3, full size laptop territory, which isn't the case at this price point. On that basis, I don't quite see where the Asus fits in. If you want portability, this looks like the answer, if you want performance, get an i3 laptop. To me, the Asus is only the answer if you absolutely do not want a full size laptop and really want the extra battery life.

If it is advertised and sold as 12 months guarantee they would have to give 12 months. I really can't see how legally you could get away with advertising 12 months and offering only 1 month. It is the same if John Lewis sold a TV with 5 year warranty and then decided that after buying the item they would only give you 12 months.

If it ever drops back down to sub £200 again, i'll be on it in a flash.

With this CEX deal as a fall-back, it would be a no brainer!

Neshed out again due to finding a 2nd-user Viewsonic ViewBook 130, a bit like the Asus UL30A that I also dithered on but half the price (It was actually on here a few months ago but missed it when it was cheap, only to jump in price). The added ExpressCard slot helped me plump for this, something I've not seen on many laptops/netbooks. USB3 now a possibility on the cheap.

I think I'd have gone for this one by now had I not been lucky. Surprised it's not been popular.
