Wow! Walked into my local 99p store in Leicester and to my suprise, they were selling ultra-slim Bluetooth 2.0 USB sticks. Great for peeps that don't have bluetooth in their laptops/computers. I paid £5 for mine! Could've bought 5! :p!

Looks EXACTLY the same to the DX one and has the same specs, I took some photos but my BB is being a plomp and not letting me transfer, once I get it sorted, I'll post asap.

Got one that looks identical, got it from DX for about 2.50. Getting it locally for a quid is a bargain.

Works perfectly.

Quick question, do you get funny looks when taking a picture of something for sale in a shop?

This is the exact one PoundWorld have aswell, there's a deal on here for that, I got 3 of them from there at the start of the month.

That 1p price premium they are charging on this is scandalous.

I hope you got them to explain themselves! What was their excuse? :?

Can't be inflation, we are in a recession.

I bought one of these, and the pc recognises it as a bluetooth thingy (technical!) and sometimes my phone will find it, but it won't let me transfer stuff between the two.
Well worth a shot for a quid, but I can't figure it out...

I bought 2 from poundland last month, (my hubby always loses small things!) and they work perfectley on his laptop, no problems with transfers between the phone and laptop. We had probs at first but found we had to let the laptop do the wizard thing before it would connect to each other.

Great bit of kit for a pound!

I found it problematic on windows 7, hardly works, too much messing about to send & receive files, not sure what it will be like on xp
#15

But this is a steal deal.
#16
Anyone know it this one supports A2DP? Im after a replacement bluetooth dongle for pc that will allow me to listen to music on my bluetooth headphones.

you need to get the bluetooth icon to display in your taskbark in bluetooth settings. After you have done that, every time you want to send/receive right click on the bluetooth icon and select send / receive and do your business. same in XP. Even this is a bit of work rather than straight off automatic but its for safety as ive read.

yes it is also in Poundworld

99p Store in Leicester? Where?

There's a Poundland on Belgrave Gate and Poundworld in the Haymarket Centre but the only 99p shop that I know of was on Humberstone Gate (in the old Littlewoods) and didn't last long.

Have I been missing out on a source of bargains?

I brought 3 a few months ago. Worth it for a quid!

might be as above, easiest way is to right click the file and select 'send to bluetooth device'
iirc i thought might show up as a network drive (browse files came up on phone) or something but doesn't
cant remember how to send to pc ive never needed to

Sounds like you are getting mixed up, these only transfer data between bluetooth devices. For example laptop and a mobilephone. So no limits there.
#25
Can anyone check this has a proper ID for the bluetooth. I bought a crapload once and they are useless as they all have the same ID, something like 00:00:00:00.

Thanks.
#26
I bought one of these last year for a couple of quid they are excellant once you suss how to use them !
#27
These are just about worth £1,signal is very weak 2-3 metre range, wont connect to half my devices and not work with my win 7,i had to buy the v2.1 toshiba one from dx for $8 works a treat with everything and a 10 m range.

Don't have a 99p store near me but picked up 2 from Poundworld in Birchwood, Warrington. Missed the original post for Poundworld when I was on holiday so thanks to the OP for posting this as I wouldn't have bothered looking if he hadn't posted.

#33

I can't picture it and I walk through there all the time. I know there's a Poundworld next to the Mercury News Shop, and a huge tat shop where TK Maxx used to be, but I don't remember seeing a 99p Store recently. There was a short lived one in the old Littlewoods before they divided it up but that was a few years ago.

The mac address is:
00-15-83-15-A3-10

On all 3 of mine, so no they are not unique.

That's the same address as mine, which is one of the smaller "T" shaped ones that I got off ebay for just under 70p delivered. (identified as Cambridge Silicon Radio)

I haven't tried to do so, but it looks like it may be possible to change the MAC using a linux utility:- http://www.siddharthabbineni.com/tech/hardware/change-bluetooth-device-mac-address.html
