Dont think its as small as the one listed but its very thin and suits my purpose.

Also came with bluesoleil drivers. These are supposed to allow you to use your wii control as a remote but Ive yet to try it.
Im happy with this purchase. I did initially have doubts as I was going to use it for general purpose but its now fitted to another PC permanently and is really ideal for that.

THANK YOU!!!! I have been looking for something like this for a while but refuse to pay silly ebay prices!!

Heat & rep left!

They liked it at Trusted Reviews too - it's small enough that it is plug and forget. Great if your machine doesn't support bluetooth already, say for syncronising your smartphone.

brill...heat added

This is actually more than I paid for my Dell internal card but certainly a very compact alternative.

One thing I'll comment on when using bluetooth for audio is that it generally sucks quality wise....compared to wires

More often than not, I just plug in my $2.99 headphones & mic when using VOIP or messengers as the audio quality is top notch by comparison.

I also found that the method of connecting using BT with a 3rd party dongle (& Blue Soleil) was more complex than the Dell solution.

No, Bluetooth devices do not work with Bluetooth adapters

Make sure u follow the install instructions (and find the USB socket it likes) otherwise it becomes a nightmare to get it to work correctly.

I'm very happy with mine now I reformatted and re-installed it. It's v.small altho 1/4 of a cm still sticks out.
#22
anyone know if it uses the broadcom bluetooth stack? i think a way of telling is that if you right click on the BT icon in the system tray, you are able to start/stop bluetooth and the icon changes colour depending on if BT is disabled/enabled/has paired devices.
#23
did you say it supports A2DP for stereo BT headphones?

I'd be interested to know if this works on the Asus EEE laptop too.
I'm running Windows XP on mine, but this could be a great add-on ?
Does it do A2DP ?

Quick question - any opinions on which of the two tiny USB bluetooth dongles on that site would be 'better', whatever that may mean:

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(30084)Ultra-Small-USB-Bluetooth-Dongle-10m-BTD5.aspx

or

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=30433

My guess would be the Trust one, as it is a well known branded name, but any other ideas? I like the look of the rounded one, as I assume that you're less likely to catch it than the other one, which looks like it has edges that stick out a bit...

I would go with a branded product as it would be easier to get drivers, etc in the future.

Bluetooth 2.0 supports A2DP right. ?

Would love someone to confirm though.
#33
No mention of A2DP in the pdf (it's only installation instructions) .

This dongle works in stereo and you can play, pause, skip forward & skip backwards with Gear4 bluetooth headphones, Sony DR-BT30QB Bluetooth Headphones
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/130572/sony-dr-bt30qb-bluetooth-headphones/

Maplins Bluetooth Stereo headset
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/135919/bluetooth-stereo-headset-9-94-mapli/

The sony’s seem to give the loudest volume

With the Maplin’s I can now use VoipBuster over the Bluetooth link, RESULT:-D

Haven’t tried it with my phones yet as I’m off too work now

There is also a Remote Camera Menu whatever that does "For importing still images I think"
#38
Quick question...can this be used with a printer? I have ordered a dell laptop (2 weeks and still waiting) with built in bluetooth but I was hoping I could plug this into my printer so I could get rid of leads?

Will it work?
