I had my surgery in 2007 by optical express and I can highly recommend them. I did lots of research before hand and found that they used the best surgeons and latest equipment.

I have some vouchers which will save you £150 off any laser treatment at Optical Express. I am happy to post it to anyone who wants one!

Just drop me a PM here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/profile/ryderage/messages/compose-mail?to=ryderage

I had laser correction last week. The treatment was done by Optical Express in Manchester, I had both eyes done by LASIK treatment. The total cost was £1090, which was £395 for one eye (prescription -1.5) and £695 for the other (prescription -2.5). A deposit of £200 and then 10 payments of £89. For more accuracy you can opt for WAVEFRONT correction and quicker recovery with INTERLASE. The total cost for WAVEFRONT and INTERLASE was £2290 for me. The INTERLASE gives quicker recovery as a laser is used to cut the cornea not a scalpel, although I had the treatment at 10.30 and was up and about at 15.30 with very good vision. Within 24 hours I was classed as having 20/20 vision, after 6 days the classification was "better than 20/20 vision". The actual treatment takes less than 15 minutes, you will spend about 2 hours at the clinic. There are 2 consultations, the treatment and a post-op consultation. You can then leave although your vision will be seriously limited as the local anaethstetic is still working, about 4 hours later it has worn off.

Is it worth it?

I had Lasek (changed from the scheduled Lasik at the last minute due to wrong advice from the consultant) at Optical Express in Milton Keynes last year, one eye only, to correct a a previous Laser op by a different company. The customer service and professionalism by the staff was appalling and I was kept waiting on several occasions for appointments. My correction for 1 dioptre resulted in only 0.5 dioptre of correction. So I am still long sighted after 2 procedures. Was it worth it? NO!
Went to Ultralase for a free consultation, quoted me £3600 so went to Optimax, had exactly the same procedure (Lasik with Wavefront and Femtosecond) for £2300.

Shop around people. Oh, and it's he best £2300 i've ever spent!!
Thanks for the detail pugw$sh, if I ever decide to go for it in the future then I'll be back here reading your experience
