Paid about £230 for mine about 12 months ago.. Not a bad tv. AS you would expect from these cheaper brands, the user interface is a little fiddly, and the menu system is not great, but the underlying functionality is great.
DVD's always seem to have subtitles switched on (but you get used to turning them off), Freeview is ok. Picture over a HDMI source is rather good too. Can't fault at this price.

Tempted, but need DIVX too. Think I'll have to pay full price :(

this does play divx. My sister has one.
plus this is a good price!

Can this be wall mounted?
#6
Same tv for sale at svp and they say...

Tip From Lucy At SVP:This TV can be wall mounted with the Vivanco wall mount here as it is VESA compliant.

Ordered - heat added :-)

Does anyone know what model this is?

I think its a S19/7 but not sure, there's a quite a few similar ones about, all with good reviews for the price.

Something that might be useful (but untested until mine has arrived) is how to make the DVD player region free: At the DVD screen NO DISC displayed top left type 9735 and select 0 from the hidden menu that appears.

The boffer text doesn't mention a remote. I assume one is included - I emailed boffer to check, but no reply yet.....

Just ordered one. Will let you all know what the result is. I already have the 22" UMC one and touch wood and whistle it's been fine for about the year we've had it (Paid for the optional 3 year warranty as well from Tesco Direct and paid a lot more than this price from Boffer. This will be the 2nd time I've been Boffed and the 1st time was ok as well.)

The only one I can see at SVP is the ipod dock version?

They replied to me confirming that the remote control should be included with this item.

Other UMC TVs that I have seen have separate transformers. If you want to be sure, support should be able to help: http://www.boffer.co.uk/support/submit_ticket.php

Boffer is Big Pockets. I have used both before and they have been ok.

I purchased a UMC 19 inch TV with Freeview & DVD about 6 months ago from Makro.
All I can say is AVOID.
The Freeview tuner struggled to change channel.
If you wish to access the EPG or INFO, the picture will freeze for upto 10 seconds whilst the processor thinks about it.
The DVD player is clunky and noisy.
UMC customer services claim all of my issues with this unit are due to a poor signal and the purchase of a signal booster will remedy all faults.
I have put my UMC TV back in its box and spent a further £170 on a decent 19 inch Samsung LE19B450 which I could not be more pleased with.

Hope this helps someone.

I have cancelled my order in favour of this one. For a few quid more you get a 22" screen, and Ipod Dock as well as the integrated DVD - plus by adding the free delivery TV Booster and using the code you can get the lot delivered for £123.53. Interestingly it seems to come from the same company (BigPockets.co.uk as opposed to Boffer).

That one doesn't have a DVD player does it?

No it transpired there was a website error it didn't so that order was cancelled and this one was resurrected again, and it arrived on Wednesday, but I haven't had time to set it up yet.
