No it is not an ADSL modem. you still need an ethernet ADSL modem. A USB modem will not work.

Sorry, if you means can you plug a ADSL modem in then yes if it is an ethernet modem, i.e. not a USB modem. This router has an RJ45 ethernet port, known as WAN.

Can it be used for NTL cable modem?

Can it be used for NTL cable modem?

yes as long as the cable modem connects to your pc with a network cable and not a usb cable

Don't see why not. As long as it has an ethernet port then it should work.

The name is a bit misleading though; 'gateway' routers almost *always* refer to routers with adsl modems built in.
#23
Few nice bargains in there Mike :-D Thanks!

ynniks I always thought gateway referred to a router with no modem, but I'm no expert :)

dear hot uk deals users,
i realy need your help,
i have got ntl broadband but my connections coming from black ntl tv reciver as modem .from this box there is long cable coming to my pc and pluged with usb adapter.i am trying to buy wireless router and wireless adaptor for my pc.

is this router will be suitable for me or not?if not what would you recomend to me.
thanks for your helping.
#33
ozziecandir, look for the ethernet port and buy yourself a RJ45, cat5e patch cable. Don't ever use USB for networking if you have a choice. You can use an ethernet router for any broadband connection as long as you have an ethernet modem.
[mod]#34
This Gateway router appears to still be available plus the bargain corner seems to have lots of goodies again.

Also having a PC/laptop clearance so have a browse.
