Are any of the special editions worth it over the standard edition?

there's a GOTY edition that includes all the DLC but i dont think it's available in the UK yet. if you buy this and purchase all the DLC on psn it would work out quite the same pricewise.

The best DLC is easily the Seige pack.
I would say just get that and the game and you'll be happy.

Easily the best game i've ever played.

if you need all the DLC that GOTY edition it's your better as it includes all the DLC plus some comics and those golden guns. it's released in the US so you could order one from ebay for around 30 quid not sure if they will tax you on that tho. if not just get this game and the seige pack (i think there's another one with maps) and would work out 10 quid cheaper

Not my game (was just a little boring and stereotypical characters, not to mentioned mechanics that are done better elsewhere) but generally its really popular and cheap so heat added.

For example?
Concision and speed of the cover mechanic better in Gears, Aiming and gun use tighter in metal gear, platforming better done in god of war (surprising but true, while not as free form it was more varied and better done in my opinion). The mechanics aren't bad, I was just stating it excelled nowhere and so left me with the impression it didn't stand out to me. I wasn't a fan of the game but played through both uncharted 1 and 2 in 1 weekend so to see what the hype was about. By the time I got round to finishing it I was bored since the second looped the first ones pacing (although elongated) with the same sort of betrayal by bad guy (sully shot by mercs in Uncharted 1 and Drake left in museum in 2), finding treasure that needs getting, monsters, boss fight. Obviously a little inbetween but it stretched its legs while doing nothing different. When I played god of war and found its platforming and puzzles more inspired (such as the 3D maze and the big giant cube thing along with jumping around broken cities) I just felt that title killed the last part of uncharted that stood out, which was the platforming.

Fair points :) It's your opinion so I'm not here to argue. I personally loved GOW3 as well but I do still think Uncharted 2 was by far the superior game (my opinion this time..)

Maybe playing the 2 games back to back over one long weekend sickened you slightly I dunno. Uncharted 2 certainly has it's faults but it is still up there as being one of the best games ever made ;)
