I didn't take a picture but the special edition (steelbook) is definitely priced at this amount. Sadly, my local didn't actually have the special edition content (which made me very angry) so I didn't pick it up. Stock will be very limited but worth posting if you know your local has stock.

Still £42.98 online (http://www.game.co.uk/Games/PlayStation-3/Action-Adventure-Adventure/Uncharted-2-Among-Thieves-Special-Edition/~r343449/?s=ucharted+2)

Sounds like the item you saw was pre-owned.

Hate to sour the deal, but...

DON'T DO IT!

These sold out long ago and I foolishly ordered one from Game and it came wrecked! It was deffo old store stock that had been re-sealed. The metal box was dented all over and full of scratches. GRRR - returned for refund.

Nope, pre-owned was still £34.99 and this 'new' copy has been floating around in the Uxbridge store for the last few months. They actually had 2 until a few weeks ago. I asked the staff if they could simply give me the pre-owned copy's limited edition contents but was told that they weren't given them when the guy traded it in.

Don't do what? It's instore, not on their website so if you see it wrecked instore, don't buy it. I am aware Game are awful for mixing up pre-owned and new stock but that's not always the case and in the case of special/limited editions, I really don't mind how the disc is (as long as it plays) and the content (including the steelbook) is mint.

The difference between the 'standard' edition & the Special Edition is the Special Edition was issued in a Steelbook case (with an outer plastic slipcase over the top to protect the metal), two postcards, & the redeemable PlayStation Network Voucher Codes for the additional downloadable content: two gold weapons (a Beretta & an AK-47) and multiplayer "skins" for the in-game characters (used during the online aspects of the game), & a PlayStation 3 Theme.

If this item has been traded-in & the Voucher Codes have not been supplied then the item is not being sold as the original retail product in a new condition; it is "used".

Another case against The Game Group's current trading practices, I think...

GAME sells ex-display stock as 'new' - Will refund or replace any non-'mint' goods bought at Easter

Well, what had basically happened was that some douche at the store gave the special edition contents away with a normal edition. One of the guys who work there is one of my friends so was just speaking to him about. The traded in (used) copy didn't have the contents either but that was because it wasn't traded in with the case and disc.

Sorry to be so negative, but just so I understand...

This deal listing describes a "new" product that isn't complete, and a used product that isn't complete either.

The "deal" is just limited to the Uxbridge store.

Is that correct?

My friend in Harrow just phoned me, he managed to pick up a sealed copy but won't be passing on to me. :( But you're correct in how I described the two copies. But this specific deal I posted is for new UC2 SEs.

OK, thanks. If this is a nationwide deal in specific GAME stores that still have stock of this item then that is fine, but I think the way in which you described the deal may be the reason why you have been receiving cold votes.

I'll check a few local GAME Stores & vote accordingly thereafter.

Fair enough. I imagine this being very limited. There was no stock in the Hayes Retail Park store by me, to give others a heads up.

Except this deal isn't for pre-owned copies.

Is there not some concern they might be though - if so -cheaper in BB - think it was £24.99 I saw it for at lunch - not steelbook either but still pennies in the bank :)
