And what exactly is the benefit of spending ages cooking rather than 2 min in the microwave other than saving a few pence? And at this price it's a no brainer

The Peshwari one has high fructose corn syrup in it albeit by another name. Hardly natural. Still, a good deal if you like that sort of thing. Voted hot.

Basmati rice is ridiculously easy to cook, there's no need for this overpriced microwave ****.

Get a 3 quid milk pan, or something big if you want to cook more
Pop in half a cup of rice and a cup of water in it (1:2 ratio, reduce quantity but maintain ratio)
Put a glass lid on it. medium flame, it'll cook itself for 8-10 mins.
Once the water bubbles/evaporates, take off the lid and check to see the water's gone.

Done!

How does telling us how to cook basmati rice make this less of a deal?

Maybe people choose products like this for work when they have limited time and cooking facilities available.

This is not a one off unless the OP went to my local-ish. If you are in Craigleith then there are quite a few for you there (or there were a couple of hours ago)

Alternatively;
- tear top off the packet rice, place in microwave, press button and 2 minutes later eat rice.

All done, dusted and enjoyed long before the saucepan has even left the hob.
Leaving plenty of time to enjoy; the gym, Eastenders, COD, FB, HUKD, work, the paper, etc.!

To be fair just because it says its all natural doesn't mean it hasn't been chemically altered, they can do all kinda of stuff to it but as long as it originated from a natural source they can get away with calling it natural, which surprised me. You can't trust labeling especially on food lol

That was a honest attempt of being unable to hide one's own personality. I have to say that your comment was very rude, I am afraid. I like Biriyani and I am sure a lot of people do. Just out of interest...then, what 'crap' do you eat?

I'd buy the lot if I'd seen it in store! These are great for workplace microwave lunches or a quick solo dinner, Tilda are nicer - Uncle Bens more like Pot Noodle / Walkers Crisps flavours but who could argue with 20p...
