Ok, a lot of you will think this a laughing matter, but there may be a few Saints or Leicester fans out there who will appreciate this.
Southampton are having a special "Kids for a Quid" promotion on Saturday 5th JAN.
Under 16's pay just a pound.
Also teens, seniors and students pay just £5.
Adult tickets are £15 (apparently the minimum amount permitted by FA rules for this stage of the cup.)

Book Online (members only though I think), buy at ground or like I did ring ticket hotline 0800 2800 050.

I'm a Saints supporter who hasn't been since the Dell days (partly due to me having to ferry across from the Isle of Wight) so a good chance to see the St Marys Stadium.
Taking my two sons, one a Man U fan and one undecided yet (might be a chance of making him into a young saints fan) plus my grandad who is Luckily a Leicester supporter. All for £22!
Just a shame about the pricey ferry charges for me to get there.

I think you have confused the Saints with Pompey:whistling:

fair play on the win yesterday...the mighty Royals porous defence struck again, though it was 14 v 10 today......apart from the pen and sending off which was correct, the worst referring i have ever witnessed

yeh reading do it alot....scummy Spurs dont tho.....£20 to watch the FA cup (tho almost half prem cost is typical of a scummy London club)....reading charge £10-15 and £1 for kids

If you support Leicester, great value.

If you support saints, they should pay you a pound to watch that rubbish
#9
After a painful afternoon at St. Marys yesterday, I think I'll skip this...

Still a hot deal though!
#10
Cmon Leicester... bring back Martin O'Neil
#11
And Gary Lineker
#12
And Frank Worthington
#13
..and Frank Sidebottom

I could attempt some witty insult against the scummers ( I am a Pompey fan!!) but it gets so boring so all I will say really is (choking) Nice one Southampton F.C .... Hope other clubs will take note and do the same once in a while....especially mine! Voted Hot

Already got my ticket - we could do with a bit of cup run now that we've ****ed up the league this season. The kids have got more sense than me though - they've decided to stay at home with their mum! COYR!!
#16
Well done to Southampton to be honest. More clubs should take notice of this. Not enough kids can get to watch their club enough in many cases.

Can't see many Premiership clubs doing this can you?

How about Reading? Then you may get 12p per goal at the rate they let em in

Derby County might, then you could get £2 a goal instead of £50:p

You could always watch Portsmouth if they are near you. ;-)

After yesterdays game my kids will want more than £1 to go and watch the Saints

This is an FA initiative for this weekends FA Cup games and applies to many of the weekends matches. So far I've found Bolton, Sunderland, Southend, Southampton, Blackburn and Aldershot doing the "Kids for a Quid" deal.
#22
Bristol City have done this a few times for cup games.

Bolton, Blackburn and Sunderland!

It's being funded by the FA so costs the clubs nothing!

I thought you were quoting the clubs going down then I realised Derby weren't there in the place of Blackburn. :p

Funny this, a while ago there was the arsenal - blackburn thread saying about how great it was for a tenner etc.

I got feddback left saying i was a scummer for saying i didnt think it was a good deal, because i think football is way overpriced anyway.

Now this i think is a good deal, lowering prices so local people can go and support their local team and it stills gets the **** taken out of it.

O well, still it better to watch premiership football on sky isnt it.

I think many of the 3rd round games are doing this. I know the top draw billing of Wolves v Cambridge are.

Wolves v Cambridge

£1.00 would be far to expensive to watch that rubbish, although when Cambridge win it could be a good laugh. :-D

Yep, I think 10p is in order. Although for the away end, I think toffs from Cambridge Uni should see how they slum it at Wolves and pay £50 for the privilege of their horrible pies. :whistling:

heres the link for the other third round fa cup ties that are a pound for under 16s

He can make average players seem good.

Sounds like a disgruntled Saints supporter :p

You'll never see the Saints in the Premier League again. They can only dream of swapping places with the Pompey. Maybe in 20 years eh!

No....it's not funded by the FA at all.....the clubs subsidise this out of their own pocket, you're 100% wrong my friend.

All praise to any club that has initiatives like this to get young fans through the kids.

I lived in Southampton for 4 years during the days of Terry Paine, Hugh Fisher and co. ...and will always have fond memories of The Dell.

I say take the kids there, or indeed to any football match! There's nothing like the excitement of going to your first footie match....so stop spoiling it with all the negative jibes...take 'em along and watch their faces....they'll love it!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

i'd rather go see saints play and more likely win or draw than go see Derby county lose....again

i am a saints fan living in derby...it doesn't get any worse :)
