An alien entity inhabits the earthly form of a seductive young woman who combs the Scottish highways in search of the human prey it is here to plunder. It lures its isolated and forsaken male victims into an otherworldly dimension where they are stripped and consumed. But life in all its complexity starts to change the alien. It begins to see itself as 'she', as human, with tragic and terrifying consequences. UNDER THE SKIN is about seeing ourselves through alien eyes. UNDER THE SKIN, starring Scarlett Johansson, is Jonathan Glazer's critically-acclaimed third feature after Sexy Beast and Birth.

bit of a Marmite film, either you'll like it or not - I liked it.

loved this film. Johansson is superb. I can understand why some people didn't like it though
#5
worth it for just a few scenes ;)

Worst movie of 2014. 1 out of 10 and that's being generous just for staring Scarlett Johanssen!
#7
I thought this was a great movie. Hot.
#8

It's intense, deliberately slow-paced and requires some thought so yeah, the seething mass of smartphone-junkies and 'splosion wh0res won't like this. (_;)

Great deal, ordered.

It's free on amazon instant video for prime members to stream currently. Try before you buy seems to be the vox pop opinion on this film.

I thought it was woeful. Scarlett is good. Good accent and all that but the film was so far up its own bum.

Bargain. Film of the year. Lucky if you find a black amaray/slipcovered copy though!

It's one of my top films of the year. It's slow paced, but stick with it, and it does deliver. It's minimalist, but as I like minimalism, it's no bad thing. (Look up Steve Reich and Philip Glass.) Caution: it requires an attention span, so I can sort of understand why many don't like it. It will develop a cult following, and be regarded in several years' time as a classic. It was even better watching it in the cinema, even though there was hardly anyone in. A couple of old ladies came to see it (presumably because of Scarlett Johansson, thinking it was a "nice drama"), and left about half an hour into it.

Weird movie. Some might like it though.

It's a film that stays in your head....quite keen to read the book that's it's based on....Scarlet Johansson is great.

Scarlett naked, I had imagined perfect bosoms and was so so disappointed.

rubbish film don't bother.

Great film, brilliant soundtrack

In a strange way, it probably helps if you've read the book first, even though the film is almost unrecognisable from the book.

The baby on the beach scene is particularly harrowing.

A thought provoking film and quite powerful in places, certainly sticks in the mind afterward.
Agree with Jupiter, a brilliant soundtrack too.
Those inky black scenes.......eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! oO

Managed 15 mins of this crap before I had to turn it off

This film is for people who would love watching Playback Time without Mr Bean's edits...
#27
Funded by the National Lottery, directed by a guy who (according to imdb) normally makes tv adverts. The book is pretty rubbish as well.

Don't be fooled by the cult comments. The plot is easy to understand, it just doesn't make sense in the sense that it doesn't flow

If you just want "the special scenes" you can find them on youtube

Code doesn't work. The site lets you apply the discount, but once you try and order, it says "Please enter a valid voucher code and try again."

Few brilliant scenes in this, none of the ppl she approaches on the street (apart from the disabled man) are actors so the conversations where she is flirting with random glaswegians are real. I enjoyed it.
#30
really thought provoking film, well crafted, visually stunning. really worth a go
#31
Awful film, one of the worst I've ever seen. Utterly soulless and depressing. Only redeeming feature was the special effects at the end.

Same here!

Same for me too, think they have pulled the code a few days early

I've generally found that the lower the IQ, the more likely you are not to enjoy this movie.
