Great car for the money. Good find OP. My daughter has a 2007 corsa and she loves it. Had it a year with no problems.

I've only ever owned 1 VW, a diesel Touran. Loved the practicality of it with 7 seats etc, but it was noisy, the cabin marked easily, I had stacks of problems with it and the CS was shocking. Never again.
Think this is worth the purchase? I was looking at buying a vauxhall corsa from Motorpoint but might get this deal instead??

VW got caught. That was their ONLY mistake. EVERY maker lied and fiddled mileage figures. Have you never driven a car and been amazed at how it was claimed to be 50+mpg but all YOU ever got was 30? That's because the makers lie and the public is, on the whole, a mug (collectively).
VW didn't just lie about fuel consumption figures, they designed "defeat device" software into their cars so that it changed the engine mode to run in a completely different way when it was being tested compared to when it was being driven in everyday use. It has been a year since it was discovered, plenty of time for alerted authorities to find the same in other makes, but none found.
My own car quotes 50.7 MPG as its consumption, I've achieved 50.2 on the 11 mile commute - which includes 2 miles with a cold engine. Usually the reason that people don't get anything near quoted consumption figures is down to poor driving.
Is your mpg figure going by what the car tells you or have you done a manual calculation based on mileage and fuel top up?

By the car computer. I've done the calculation using mileage and fuel top up and that worked out at over 56MPG, so I took the lower number.

you need a more interesting hobby!
Corsa - the car for people who know nothing about cars. I wonder if anyone on here would admit to thinking "I've got £7000 burning a hole in my bank account, I really fancy a Vauxhall"
What car would You buy if you had £6,995??? Let's hear it Mr expert....
The only car is the class at the same price is the Dacia Sandero 1.2 with less kit and just as slow.
The only comment in that class is generally banned, you sir are a fool.
If you read it again I was agreeing with you the only other car at the same price is not as good. Now who is the fool! :)
It was in reference to a sandero being in the same class, that's simply not true. Same price bracket perhaps bet not the same class.

It's classed in the same sector as the corsa. This class being supermini along with things like the Polo, Fiesta and Clio.
VW owners acting like console fan boys, sad
Imagine having an opinion on the product. And btw if you read back it was a moron who said "not vw = hot" who started the whole thing. Yeah it's a hot deal because it isn't one manufacturer. Btw your comment contributes absolutely nothing to the thread.
