Bought this when it was £19.99, so even better value now.
It does what is says, tried it with 2x2700mAh and 2x2600mAh all at the same time.
Charged quicker than the Sprint charger.

I have this and it is excellent - Good Value at this price
#5
Yeah except that your batteries will have a much shorter life and capacity will drop off very quickly.

The faster you charge rechargeables - the more you tend to shorten their lives. However, this charger appears to have 4 separate charging circuits which will reduce the chance of that to am extent.

However, if you need charged batteries quickly - why not buy a few extra rechargeables instead - and charge them beforehand?
#7
To charge in 15mins you would need to put about 10-11amps through each battery, I am very sceptical that this will not greatly shorten the life of batteries.
#8
This may be the one. Cheers!

Any one know if it come with a 12 volt car cable or 240 volt
#10
How much life will the batteries lose by charging them quickly?

Bought this about four years ago when it first came out and cost £49.99. I found it mispriced at Dixons for only £14.99, which was nice. Superb charger, very fast. Has had no noticeable effect on battery lives. Voted hot. If you're currently after a charger, then this is the one to get.

re: shortening battery life...
-I've got a 15min Energizer charger and use both GP and Duracell rechargeables (2500mAh & 2700mAh ) and have got dozens of charges of them, so far. The only downside that I have found (not sure if this is due to the quick-charge?) is that the battery will not hold its charge over a period of time (days) - In order to get optimum use out of them, they need to be charged and used same day.

For the cost of rechargeable batteries, I would never buy anything but a 15 (or 30min) charger.

Charging the batts with a slow charger every forth charge may help with charge retention

I use the energizer 15 min charger to charge the batteries for my 360 controller - I have had the same batteries for over a year and they are still going strong, though the battereies dont hold the charge for very long if just left unused (though this was the case with my old slow charger as well).
However, if you are going to charge and use on the same day they are great, and with a very quick charger such as this it is often possible to do this.

this looks good but would someone please let me know if

a) does this charge batteries higher than 2300mAh eg 2700mAh?
b) does it charge Hybrio batteries and without shortening th battery life lie some people are mentioning?
c) does it charge other battery makes like Sanyo Eneloop / Duracell?

thanks

ps how does one leave rep on here?

I charge 2900mAH AA batteries. Take about twenty minutes to reach a full charge. I use own brand batteries from 7DayShop, which as the cheapest around can hardly be the most well produced, yet I have not experienced any shortening of life, nor significant loss of charge through periods of non use while using this charger. Never had any such problems.

thank you Pokey for an answer :)

anyone know about

Ive emailed them and am waiting for a response. Ive told them im not going to pay return costs and if need be will file a chargeback with my credit card company against them. Just waiting to hear what they have to say.
#29
just ordered
hopefully mine won't come cracked.
#30
Did you get a reply back regarding the cracked display?
#31
got mine
heres a quick review

good points:
-takes more than 15 mins to charge (15 mins is for 80% charge) but still very fast
-automatically turns the fan off and stops charging once batteries are full
-they all charge independently so you can remove one and put in another whenever
-the display indicates the status of each battery
-looks brilliant. i just leave it on my desk because you get a DC adapter which has a quite long wire

bad points:
-fan can be a bit loud (i don't really mind though. just don't leave it running in your room overnight)
-doesn't have an off switch so had to be unplugged after you're done, otherwise it just illuminates blue
-took a week to be delivered by mymemory

i haven't tried charging hybrio's or batteries higher than 2300mAh yet though.
given all of this, i'd buy one if i hadn't just did so :P
