Stonking deal. Even at £5.99. I paid about £7 for these and thought that was good. Wish I'd hung on now. These are the same as the Hybrio batteries from what I can make out. You're effectively getting a set of 4 AAAs thrown in for free as 4 AA Hybrios would cost about £4.79.

Ordered a couple of boxes the other day - great deal!

It's not clear from the description if these are really Hybrios. Hydro could mean something different. It does not say "Ready-to-Use" either, so I don't know where you got this from.

Have you had those yourself and can confirm that these are Hybrios (slow discharge)?

BTW, the Uniross Hybrios packing looks different on the Uniross site.

It doesn't say Hybrio on the box or battery but it does say 'Ready To Use' on the box (from memory as I threw the boxes away this week). The branding is from the POM charger that Uniross do which seems to have flopped. If you look on Ebay I thinkyou will find these batteries sold as 'Hybrio IIndustrial'
batteries.

I don't know where they got 'Hydro' from. It's not on the box at all.

Got it. Thanks. (also to Searcher2)

Don't forget 4% TCB/Quidco

The amazon description of the POM charger also supports this - click! (which incidentally isn't a bad price itself if you're looking for an intelligent charger)

Worth the risk I reckon :)

Thanks

Yes, these batteries can be used in any device that accepts AA or AAA. Hybrio or ready to use rechargeable batteries, do indeed hold on to their charge, when not in use.

ordered two packs, thanks, i'd add heat if i could :p

It may be worth pointing out this deal too

Lidl charger

It really is worth getting a good charger for rechargeable batteries. I have had shocking results with some cheap chargers including a so called intelligent one. Once I got a decent one I found I got a lot more life out of my batteries and I believe I am now not damaging them when charging. I haven't got the one in the offer in the link but it seems to get mainly good reviews.

The one in post #19 of the above link is considered by many as the Rolls Royce of chargers - buy that and you probably won't need another ever if you only need to charge AA or AAA batteries.
#20
I'm losing count of how many Sanyo Eneloops I have now, but they are so good you can't have too many. Bought 2 packs of these Uniross', so I'll be interested to see how they compare.
H&R to you!

Does anyone know if you can charge up the POM charger and take it with you as a portable usb power bank? i.e do the batteries in the POM power the usb if you unplug the charger from the wall?

8x AA batteries would make a great gadget powercell.
#22
I assume you can use a standard charger, instead of the POM one? I have a Uniross charger here, only a few of years old. Supplied with standard NiMH cells which are now wrecked through lack of use.

Yes - a standard charger will do. It won't be as effective as a good charger but it will put some charge into them. Certainly you don't need the POM charger which I am yet to be convinced is any better anyway as it doesn't appear to be intelligent ( looks like you have to charge in pairs and no discharge facility ).
#24
Is it worth getting the POM charger, £11.19 after discount:

I know its not quite as good as this deal, but they've still got this deal going which if I read the site correctly is for 6 AA hybrios for £6.40 with a couple of (so so) chargers thrown in. Unfortunately it doesn't state the cells capacity, but if they are 2000mah then it would seem a pretty good price to me for the batteries, although I'd probably throw the chargers in the bin.

capacity is in title 2100 - good deal too (if it is definitely 6)
its the orange ones that are 1600

Mine arrived today. £8.99 for 16 ready to use batteries, brilliant!

Thanks op.

Mine arrived today, but I don't think that they are hybrios (just normal NIMH). Anyone else had some arrive & care to confirm/allay my fears?

What do you think the "Come charged : ready to use straight from the pack, Uniross rechargeable batteries hold 85% of their charge for more than 1 year" means on the box? Doesn't sound like NiMH to me.
#32
Have you actually bought any? Obviously if my boxes said that I would not have asked! What a helpful post - NOT!

Yes I have bought some (from different suppliers including this one) - see post #2, #7 and post #10 from someone else as backing up my statement. Perhaps you got the wrong product if your box does not say that on the back. Post a photo of the back of your box and I can tell you if you got the wrong thing delivered or whether you are blowing off without cause.
#34
Blowing off? I think asking a balanced question is the opposite of blowing off. Couldn't say the same about your replies which, frankly, come across as obnoxious 'can't you read' type comments!

Anyone else had any arrive that were ordered since the deal was posted?

EDIT: Thanks to souljacker - just checked mine & it seems that they do indeed say ready charged/retain 85% over a year - seems I must have missed it! I don't understand why they bury it below the standard rechargeable spiel (eco-friendly/economical). Thanks for help.

Admittedly I did think you had not read the box as I assumed you had got the product you ordered.

You stated your box does not say they are ready charged so you must not have the right product.

If you can't post a photo of the back of the packet then is the box orange and white with 'batterypocket' on the front.. and 8 RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES with MULTI USAGE / READY TO USE underneath it? I presume not given what you have already said. Or put it another way - does the box look like the one in the original post?

I don't think anyone can confirm or allay your fears until we know what you have received.

EDIT : The link to MyMemory gives a clear picture of the box. Presumably yours is not like that?
