Uniross 9V PP3 170mAh Rechargeable batteries reduced to 47pence in Currys. Found these in the East Kilbride store , they had 20 -30 left on the shelf. Not sure if it is available in any other store. Looks like they are old stock and they are making way for the ones in new packaging. Good deal as the other makes on the shelves were £6.99.

Hey mate,

What the product code - it should say on the recipt.

Very low power - the last ones I bought were 250mah, and that was a while back so they must be very old stock; but cheap if that is what you want

Actually 150 - 170 mAh seems fairly common. Although the figure is virtually meaningless in real life - even worse that MPG ratings for cars.

Bummer just bought some from Aldi £2.79 each and 200mAh and agreed this is the going rate 170-200mAh for these type of batteries hot deal if you can get hold of some.

170 and 200 are not "quite" the same thing, but apart from that 280 mah ones are widely enough available now!

If I had a need to buy any new ones, I wouldn't even be buying that capacity; but would get the Eneloop./Hybrio/Instants type anyway, although they are still relatively expensive, when compared to AA and AAA types at around £6.50 a pop, the convenience of them being still charged when you want to use them outweighs the drawbacks of this type totally, especially as this size tends to take a good bit longer to fully charge on most chargers, and a disposable is fairly expensive too!

I have a uniross one but its about 5 years old now charge it twice a year for my smoke alarm so simple equation 40 charges will give me 20 years running but even if it only lasts me another 5 years then its paid for its self ten fold!
