Had one of these, it nearly caused a fire.

The charger does NOT automatically STOP the charging process once the batteries are full.

Please make sure you TIME HOW LONG the CHARGING time and UNPLUG it after used....

A cheap timer will do the trick....

I thought it was a good deal im suprised that it doesn't turn off after fully charged ?
....maybe the should do a deal with it packaged with a smoke alarm if thats true ! :whistling:

I bought these batteries from ASDA and they are very good. They hold their charge whilst not in use, unlike the Nimh batteries where their charge drains when they're not being used. Maybe not this charger but the batteries are excellent IMHO.

don't buy it. It's worth spend a few more pounds on a more professional charger. This one is a real fire hazard!

But don't Nimh batteries recharge 1000 times where as these only recharge 500 times?

I've got a different Uniross charger, one that stops charging after the right time, will these batteries work in them?
#13
Does anyone have any technical information on these types of batteries? I've never heard of them before.

I have this charger and these batteries and they are great. They last a whole lot longer than some 2500 mah batteries I have.

Mine seem to automatically stop charging as the light goes out when fully charged.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel_metal_hydride_battery

See 'Low self discharge batteries'. I have some of these Hybrio batteries (not the charger however), and they are excellent. Have always found normal NiMH batteries lose their charge too quickly. These hold it for a long time - useful for things which you don't use regularly, but you want it to still be charged up whenever you next need it (in my case a digital camera).

I cant comment on the charger, but the batteries are very good.

Having already got a Uniross fast charger, I went for the

Hahnel Synergy Pre Charged AA Rechargeable 2100mAh Ni-MH Batteries x 4

at £6.26 from Amazon

Rechargeable up to 600 times

Better value

So far, so good

The title should say £2.65 + delivery, whether deal is from Amazon or not.

all stocked up for Xmas now!

I love the way the charger is called 'X-press mini' when the instructions suggest it should take 16h30m to charge the batteries it comes with (when fully discharged).
