Going to have to disagree - I played the demo and thought it was truly terrible. Still, it's good value even if it only entertains for an hour at that price.

How on earth can they sell & deliver a game for £0.98 :?

Even if the stock cost £0.01ea. P&P would surely be costing them more than £0.97!

It's a playtrade item. I actually got 3 CD's off playtrade in different transactions for less than £1 each. The fee they paid to play was around 60p, then the postage was also around 60p, so they all lost money selling it to me! They would have been better off just throwing it in the bin!

I picked this up for £2.99 off a trader on eBay. The game was a bit pants tbh but it came with a 1 month trial of the gold membership for Games for Windows. They've scrapped the service on the PC but the code worked fine with the Xbox so it wasn't a complete loss. Cex will give me 80p to trade it in!!

For those who do not have a PC World nearby, a penny more for delivery is a bargain! ;)

(Well, if the game is worth it - but given that 98p doesn't buy much these days it'[s worth a punt IMO)

Some people on playtrade are prepared to make a loss on some items if it means putting them at the top of the listings as it helps give their business better exposure - I'm not saying at that's the case here however as they may simply want to get the item out of their sights as it were. Play them selves I believe (or so I have read) do this as they can be cheaper than competitors which draws people in, which in turn presents a greater chance of people spending more time on their site and adding more to their carts. In some cases business have to be prepared to make a short term loss in order to make a long term profit.

There is very little money to be made on each item where DVDs, CDs and games are concerned. Play et al make their money buy selling volumes of them. I think a lot of people are under the impression that when a new Blu-Ray comes out play buy them at bulk at £4 each, then sell them on at £15 or £18 and make grotesque profits on each unit sold. It doesn't work like that, in fact I have read that when one of the big blu-ray titles from last year was released they actually made a small loss on every unit they sold. They got their money back through people buying lots of items at the same time.

Despite the movie studios banging on about piracy they are still the overwhelming winners as the likes of Play and Amazon buy direct from them at a premium which = a gross profit for the studios even with the existence of piracy*.

*I am not in anyway condoning piracy, but the picture isn't quite as skewed they (the studios) would have you believe.

So find a PCW and CEX in close vicinity, buy a few of these titles and trade 'em at CEX for 33p profit a go. Not bad for 5 mins work - or better if you trade up for items in CEX.
