Unless you are passing and need some petrol, what does the few pence difference really make? It way beyond me how people rave on about saving a few pence per litre, drive 25 mile out of their way to queue for 30 minutes at the pump to get that price. Its crazy! If I need petrol, I fill up where I am and never look at the price. I know they say the pennies look after the pounds, but this is ridiculous.

"I saved 50 pence on petrol today dear. Thats why I am 3 hours late back."

That's a terrible exaggeration, obviously this works as a heads up for those who pass near to that location.

There's an entire industry around saving money on fuel, websites, phone apps etc. If people keep a preference for the forecourt where the fuel is cheaper then it has an affect on other outlets, downward pressure. If all drivers just filled up anywhere regardless then there is no incentive for fuel companies to lower prices.

The actual price and size of the saving is not the main advantage of these deals.

These fuel price postings are excellent and contribute towards savings for all drivers and long may they comtinue.

Your the type of person I see in the petrol station 3p more expensive than sainsburys over the road near my house who I think are brain dead.

If anyone were like you we shouldn't have any fuel price drops atm.

I saved £8 this week compared to a few months ago.

Hot deal.

Yes!!!! Or 'drove 16 miles to get cheaper deal, 16 miles back' so offset any saving made in first place and actually COST more in fuel to get there!

Prices dropping nationally now anyway, but still not reflecting crude at minute. Guess they can't give up a good revenue stream in the end. It'll be back up shortly.

Get your petrol where you drive past as this post indicates. Ban the petrol 'tourists' :-)

I use 60 litres of diesel a week, so actually prices make a huge difference to me and the garage nearest to me is 6p a litre more and the local supermarket 5p. Clearly you have money to burn if you never bother looking at how much you're paying for fuel.

I don't recall suggesting to anyone that they drive out of their way to get here, merely that it would be useful to anyone nearby or who was driving past.

As others have said, I do wonder why you're on a deals site if you don't want to save money.

Ponce!

Its partly because of people like you that it is so expensive because if you avoided the expensive ones (usually BP) then they will be forced to drop their price to attract custom and then the other slightly cheaper ones will drop their prices too so as to remain the cheapest. Then we all win .
