I did this twice when you could get Delta airpasses -a long time ago! It was only standyby, and there were 6 of us so there were a couple of times we almost didn't get on the flight but actually we always managed to get the flight we'd gone to the airport for. Flew more than 20 times in the month. Fantastic value.

Voted hot just in case someone buys it, uses it to the max and then realise they've spent the majority of their month in terminals!

Not so good if you're names on the no fly list or similar to someone on the no fly list.

nice and voted hot, but a tip - its so much nicer to see america by train - check amtrak.com - you'll see loads more of it. Trains are beautiful things in america, not the horrid system UK has.

Agree 100%.

I went from NYC to San Fran by train (California Zephyr) and it was unforgettable. Rocky Mountains, Sierra Nevada, Mississippi River, Chicago, Colorado, Nevada deserts, upstate New York in the autumn!

I'd agree with this too - did the west coast from Vancouver down to L.A. - was a great trip, it just takes a bit (read: a lot) longer on the train than flying!

What an odd thing to say. Presumably if you are on this no fly list, you wouldn't be able to get into the USA anyway so your point is both moot and blindingly obvious

What an awesome deal, get a cheap flight to NYC and start an adventure!
#12
Wonder how good the airline is? Anyone flown with them?

I think the point he's making is that if your name is John Smith and there's a John Smith on the fly list then it's difficult to persuade them to allow you to fly.

But that's to do with flying in general, there's nothing about that point specific to the deal... it's like saying "6 mars bars for a pound... not so great if you're allergic to chocolate"

How environmentally friendly this deal is.

How much is you taking them up on this offer going to change how many times they run planes during it?

Actually it kind of is if you can only fly on standby. You are basically taking up a seat that would otherwise have been empty and therefore wasteful.

im in america from 14th sept till 30th....i dunno if I'll be able to travel that much and see as many sights for it to be worth it. BUT great deal nonetheless

Great deal if you want to go on a tour of US airports and see not much else.
