What is PLUSBUS?
It's a discount price bus pass for unlimited bus travel around the whole urban area of town, at the start or end of your rail journey. You buy PLUSBUS with your train ticket and pay for your complete journey by train and bus in one easy purchase. PLUSBUS is available to 260 towns and cities across Britain. You can change between train and bus services with PLUSBUS at over 380 railway stations nationwide.
How does PLUSBUS work?
Ask for PLUSBUS when buying your train ticket at the station or by phone. PLUSBUS gives you unlimited bus travel around the whole town on all participating bus operators' services. Your bus travel can be at the start, the end, or both parts of your train journey. For each town there is one zone that covers the whole urban area. With your PLUSBUS ticket you can travel as much as you like on all participating buses within the zone.
PLUSBUS can be added to most types of walk up and Advance train tickets:
single
day return
period return
season ticket (for set periods to match your train season tickets: 7 days, 1 month, 3 months and 1 year)
How much does PLUSBUS cost?
To add unlimited travel around town to your train ticket, prices start from £1.50 a day - most PLUSBUS tickets cost around £2 to £3 a day. You can also buy monthly

Not sure why you list this under arriva deals as it's not bus company specific.

Also, it's worth adding that the usual railcard discounts also apply to these tickets.

Excellent, I pay £8.50 for a stagecoach Megarider at the moment. This will save me at least £1.50 a week if I buy it with my season ticket for work. And it will allow me to use other bus services as well.

Does that mean if you have a network railcard, you get 33 percent discount even if you buy the annual card?

Inaccurate title, does not offer unlimited travel around my town (Swansea)

Wow, save a whole 30p over the usual all day ticket on the Nottingham one. Those guys are so generous, it makes me weep tears of gratitude.

not sure about season tickets (i don't think railcard discounts apply to normal train season tickets), but definitely for single plusbus tickets.

I though that railcard only work from certain amounts? Like minimum a fiver and that most plusbus tickets costs LESS than that.

Yeh this is actually available in Swansea as I have seen advertised for a few months now.

However... last time I asked for this on the train, when I usually buy my ticket in the morning, (about a month ago) he fiddled about on his little computer and said ohhh sorry I can't do it. He didn't give me an answer why so it looks like he hadn't been trained to do it and didn't have a clue how to give me a Plusbus ticket. I haven't bothered asking since.

Thanks both, rep added. I would have just refused to buy any other ticket as that's the ticket you boarded the train intending to buy and you had good reason to believe you would be able to do so. If he doesn't know how to provide the ticket that's his problem and not yours.

Yeah, but it's far easier asking them in this forum - you get a free personal answer after all. Sometimes several.

It seems quite fitting that a deal about bus and train tickets is posted with a picture of a vehicle that is built from parts of both!!
