Received letter through post from Sky that if I switch to sky for telephone line and broadband to receive free calls to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh (including 53 countries) for £5 per month in addition to line rental. It also includes unlimited calls to landlines in the UK.

I called up Sky to take up the offer and call centre guy did not have knowledge of the offer but further checking he agreed. Friend of mine also called and Sky said even though it was not an advertised offer they will honour. I wonder why Sky is not advertising as it is an excellent offer for people calling to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh

Offer ends 30th November 2010.

Edit: Changed title from free to Unlimited and added 7p connection charge although I was told by Sky as 7p connection charge does not apply to unlimited package.

Edit2: Why is the title showing EXPIRED???

I was not sure regarding 7p connection charge mentioned in the letter. I asked Sky and was told that 7p charge does not apply to calls included in the package. So 7p connection charge would not apply.

Did you get confirmation of 7p charge from Sky?

too many hidden charges, hence I'm out

one 7p charge made quite clear. let me know what charges are hidden?

So thats 5 british pounds a month just to play, then an additional 7 good pence every call?? you have to also include the pain factor associated to being a sky telephone customer :-( they are the worst at customer service if you find you ever have any troubles.... i.e. engineers that cant came out for 3 weeks when your line is faulty!! no joke!

good luck

I used to spend around £20 a month for calls to India and £5 a month for the UK calls. Now I only pay £5 instead of £25 so big savings for me.
