Unlimited mins, texts & 3GB data for £7.50 per month for 4 months @ The People's Operator (on EE network) - HotUKDeals

This is a great alternative to GiffGaff or anyone wanting a lot of cheap 3G data.

For some reason the bespoke page is different to the actual offer, so use this link instead to go straight to the TPO page:

http://www.thepeoplesoperator.com/exclusive

You get months 1-4 for £7.50 (1 month rolling contract).
Seems like an absolute bargain. TPO use EE's infrastructure so data speeds will be good too.

£12.12 from TCB as well.

Also 10% of your monthly bill can go to a charity of your choice at no extra charge to you (thanks nigelK).

£14.99 thereafter

Says join before 30th June?

Yeah I think they extended the offer, it says 'Offer ends at midnight on: 17 July' on the right.

Turns out it's actually valid until the 19th if you go to the TPO page.

Hot, but shame it's only 3G, not 4G data.

The most alike bundles I can find from the SIM megathread are
Virgin: unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data (3.5GB) for £18/PM
GiffGaff: 1200 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data for £20/PM

So less than half the price of the nearest equivalents.

It also beats the hell out of the T-Mobile 12 month offer (1000 mins, unlimited texts, 3GB data for £16.99/PM).

Not sure why this is being voted cold tbh, it's a great price for a very generous amount of mins, texts and data from an established company. Anyone care to explain?

Well quite a lot of the people who took advantage of this deal swapped SIMs each month, including me :). Getting a PAC code is easy these days.

Perhaps people who have experienced the hassle of trying to deal with bespoke offers before

Fair enough, but once you click the bespoke link you're dealing with TPO.
Actually when it takes me to the actual deal page on the TPO site, it says the first 4 months are charged at £7.50, then it's £14.99 thereafter, but it's a rolling 30 day contract so it actually costs £7.50/PM and then people can just cancel.
I think I'll update the details to show this.

can't see why it's being voted cold - odd
#11
Heated - to 0 degrees anyway. Seems a good deal to me.
#12
Hot.
Yes, it's not 4g
Yes, if you try and use EEs 3g around my way, forget it (and i'm in a London Borough)
Yes, it's a bit fiddly to get going (for some)
but unlimited texts and minutes with 3Gb of data (if you can use it) for £7.50 a month
That's just blazing.

Potentially £12 TCB/Quidco also, if you click through there and use the direct link above.

OK, it probably won't work, but it's worth a shot right? ;)

Will go for this later in the month as my contract runs out then; I can always re-PAC it later if a better deal comes along -- thanks OP :)

Joined TPO as T-Mobile didn't give me a good deal for note 3 so thought I'll switch and wait for a decent deal.
Switching to TPO was very smooth, later many problems happened with top up, chasing customer service (phone and online chat) and still not sorted.
To get my PAC code I had to contact them 6 times, at the end I threatened a complain to Ofcom then they gave me the code.
To be fair the network cover is decent and staff are polite but definitely they require more training so not to give false promises and just send email tickets without following them up.
Didn't vote for the above reasons.

I appreciate the level-headedness :). When did you sign up with them if you don't mind my asking? I'm just wondering if they've had a chance to add to/improve their CS in the interim.

Initially i was sceptical of moving from O2 to TPO, but i had to due to crap data speeds with O2. I moved to TPO when there were offering 2 months free in March. I had a billing which was sorted within 24 hours by just using there online chat. Never had to contact them other than that one billing issue and was very surprised at the speed of the response.

Personally i am very happy with TPO and can recommend them. Even SWMBO is now TPO.

£14.99 but it's a monthly rolling contract so you can just cancel at the end of the 4th (though even at £14.99 it's still better value than the T-Mobile, Virgin and GiffGaff offers).

Is there a chance of them offering anything after 4 months to get you to stay, any history of this?

Have to say that I would use them again, but they really do need to improve:

Billing - seems amateur - had two bills & not sure if I am up, down or right, nor what the next one will be (offer was half price for months 2-4).

Phone CS - never managed to experience this - tried on 2 or 3 occasions (actually worse than Three).

Webchat - felt like the girl was chatting to 10 others as it seemed to take minutes for each reply.

Port in - takes 3 working days - Ofcom requires 1 working day. They did not use my first PAC the day/day after I gave it so it expired - second code sent in reply to their email - out of the blue 9 days later, without any prior acknowledgement, emailed to say it would port in the next day. No reply to request to cancel port in/complaint about delay & random timing.

PAC request - emailed on 23rd June - still awaiting... they did get the request & logged a support ticket for me on on 24th... nothing further. Ofcom requires 2 hour response.

All in all, great prices & mobile service fine, but CS reminds me of Faulty Towers & that would probably get closed down these days.

PS Just to add, £12.60 Topcashback tracked fine & payable quite quickly.

You can't tether unfortunately.

So the best tether deal out seems to be the Tesco one still......
750 mins / unlimited / 2gb data or
1500 mins / unlimited / 1gb data
£12.50 a month. Anyone better that?

For deals on tethering your best bet is the SuperMegaUltrazord SIM thread.

Yup, read that. It's not accurate either wrt Tesco Mobile :(

http://shop.tescomobile.com/pay-monthly/sim-only/Tesco+Mobile/StandardMicro+SIM/tariff

Which is why I don't trust it to be accurate for other deals. The only 3g deal they do now is 250/5000/500. All the others are 4g and they are different to what the spreadsheet says.

Ovivo were reliant on advertising for a huge chunk of their revenue which is no doubt one of the main reasons they went bust, so nah.

I don't know about their retention policy, but judging by this deal and comment #17 it seems they do a few promo offers, so I'd say there's a good chance that another will come along.

This happened with in June (last month). My email is full with tickets from TPO, instead of trying to address the current issue they just kept opening new tickets over and over again for the same problem!!
