Agree with how amazing these guys are!! I would definitely recommend the 'Hokey Cokey' bag - 300 texts and 60 minutes, plus an extra minute for every minute you're called - I never run out of minutes!!

Scrap what I said, apparently 3G is available! Why did I not know this until now... *sighs*

The only issue for me is that they are not 3G - internet can be sluggish!

Ahh, I have ordered my Giff Gaff SIM but didn't realise they were not 3G :(

Sean, you realise you may have to manually set up the APN to get the 3G to work? Or, if you have an Android phone, there's an App that'll do it all for you.

They're part of O2 but operate an entirely separate business.

I have been with giffgaff for a while now and and my 3g worked without any set up! I would definitely recommend them, not really had any network probs. In fact I put this up ages ago but it was taken down! =s (using a nokia s60 device)

Apologies guys! I'm using an older phone (Sony K800i) and never thought the settings might be affected... will look into it!
#14
Okay, maybe they didn't support 3G when I joined in their early beginnings, but texted 'Settings' to 2020 to update them and got the 3G logo back on my home screen :D

If you want an amazing tarriff there's absolutely no question in joining GiffGaff! If you can, get a friend to send you a SIM for £5 bonus credit each (REMINDER: No referrals on here guys...)

Not voting hot or cold, but it doesn't seem particularly hot to me.

Great if you're going to renew each month, but then why not get a good contract deal? Even better with Quidco or TCB. I'd be more impressed if the mins/texts simply lasted until you'd used them all, not just by the end of the month.

Well, if you find that you don't use the minutes and texts before the month is up, you can easily downgrade to a cheaper goody bag, and if you're not even using all of those, then you can just use the PAYG rates - which on Giffgaff are fantastic: 8p a minute for calls, 4p per text message.

Also you get free Giffgaff to Giffgaff calls and texts, so if you can convince your friends and family to join up (And you get free credit or cashback for doing so!) then you only need to top up every 3 months to keep the free calls and texts activated.

Do they do Micro sims ??

Ask for it in Fourms they will cut it according to the micro sim size and send it out for free- This used to be the case last time.

May they have start doing the micro sim now. Please check with them. before you buy.

Contracts! No way am I ever going near any contract.

I've been with GiffGaff for quite a while and because I take part in the community I've paid very little for my time. Data was totally free until today anyway, was for months on end.

I moved from Giffgaff to go on a 12 month contract with voda as they had a deal going on which seemed great.

Ok firstly, the voda deal was a good deal... blah blah blah.

My biggest regret was leaving Giffgaff! I used to use the £10 250 mins txt and internet... and everything was perfect!

The minutes were just about right. The texts were more than enough as they're unlimited.

Now this is where the regret part really enters in... the internet! O my days, I used to use it like mad! Totally unlimited! I used to watch youtube content, bbciplayer, talk to you guys, download apps, use google navigation surf the net and I could carry on...

Best of all the internet was at top speed most (99.9%) of the time... HSPDA 24/7! (almost)

When my twelve months is up I'm moving back!

With voda i've got 500mb and some sites as i've come to learn the hard way do not support flash?

Plus their signals not very good for some reason.

If you have'nt already, hurry up and get giffgaffed!

O and its free to call and txt giffgaffers!

I have 5 days until my o2 contract is up, then my move to giffgaff will happen.

@ £10 a month, over the space of a year I would have saved £300 and got a better deal than any contract is offering me. I may treat myself to a new phone soon, my iPhone 3G is still doing the job though!

giffgaff's PricesInterested in our goodybags?
You'll be happy to know that you don't have to sign any contract to buy them. giffgaff is a Pay As You Go mobile network, so just pay upfront for the monthly goodybag you want to use. If after using a goodybag you want to try another one out for the following month, feel free to do so. No strings attached.

What happens if you've used all the minutes in my goodybag before it expires?
In that case you can continue using the service at our standard prices. Just make sure you buy credit.

These are our standard prices:

To giffgaff mobiles, texts, call forwarding and video calls Free
Calls to other UK mobiles, landlines (starting 01, 02, 03) and call forwarding(per minute) 8p
Texts to other UK mobiles and landlines 4p
Voice mail (per call) 8p
Mobile Internet (until the 04 APR 2011) Free
Free phone numbers (starting 080 & 0500) Free

You'll have free mobile Internet until the 04 APR 2011 no matter if you get a goodybag or not. (So yes, you'll get free Internet with a £5 goodybag too). goodybags with unlimited Internet will continue that way after 04 APR. You'll have free giffgaff to giffgaff calls and texts for 3 months if you top-up with credit or buy a goodybag. (So yes, you'll get free giffgaff to giffgaff calls with a £5 goodybag too)

I remember just asking a question or two [email protected]) and they gave me something like 31p just for that?

Been waiting for 8 days now for them to send out the SIM, looks like Monday now before I get it, coincides with the end of free internet, typical :(

You have to spend a tenner to activate it anyway... of course you can use that tenner as credits or for a goodybag. Getting a goodybag is better as its good value for money.

Point is you have to spend tenner to activate sim, but then if you get 10 pound goodybag, you'll get the internet anyway.
#30
Would the sim go in a tesco mobile phone seeing as tesco are part of O2 as well I think?

I need to switch to GiffGaff got a few more months left on o2 simplicity and data limits are poo! Used about 40MB yesterday and got a text from o2 saying I've exceeded my daily limit and they will cap the speeds until 12AM even though I get 500mb a month! The unlimited data on the goodybags sound perfect!

Please do us a favour when you change to giffgaff? Go on to youtube and play clips on it all day until you feel sick?... I think only then you'll feel satisfied! Don't worry cus at the end of that day you won't feel bored... instead you'll probably shout and scream out the top of your voice out of joy!

O don't forget to jump up and down... and do keep spare batteries (about 10 charged up ones) and chargers too.

That shouldn't be a problem all you need is the PUCK CODE ( by calling your current provider) and then call GIFFGAFF customer service. They will transfer the number.
