Did I just say that.......

the battery must be tiny - now incase they've invented a new technonlogy how the hell can they calim to have a 100 min talk time?!!??!

£18.99 on Tesco (plus 3% Quidco) and sim free so you can use any free sim of your choice...O2 for example will give you up to 4 free sims...

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-4006.aspx

and you can normally get free delivery to store near you...but hot and rep from me anyway...its just Im a sucker for Tesco rewards....lol

Tesco had this last month instore for around £18 but no sim card with it. Ideal for if you go running etc and want a handset with you.

With 100 min talk time it must use a AA or AAA battery. The box it is in was too small to have a charger.
#8
Blimey! Must be a small charger!

In the box:
- VX1i Mini Mobile Phone
- Mains Charger
- User Manual

Tesco do stock these i actually thought the way they were being promoted instore that it was a Tesco own brand...good if you didnt wanna risk losing an expensive phone on a night out just the bummer is if you do lose it then its the hassle of waiting on your new sim but better that than a few hundred quid down
#13
This does come with a mains charger, with a mini usb connection to the phone, so I assume it can also be charged by the computer.

I was given one of these the other day (The Tesco one) and it looks quite nice. The operating system is not as slick as the Nokias etc. But if you just need a backup phone that works with any sim card it is quite a nice little phone.
#14
Agree with the above, just get it from Tesco to save messing around. Awesome little phone imo, so tiny, not much bigger than a credit card and very slim aswell!!!

Includes FREE Vodafone Pay As You Go SIM Card worth £5.99!

These days phone companies can't even give them away, about 10 years ago that is what they were worth.
#16
its a step in the right direction from a motofone F3 , thats for sure.
good phones , good sound , useable contacts system , but like all small mob's very hard for texting.
#17
What's the point if it has to be charged twice a day?

it states "mains charger"

Yes, that will be a mini usb type.

This is the crappiest quality phone ever. You would be MUCH better off getting a samsung/nokia equivalent for the same money.

The buttons, battery life and screen on this vx1 are literally shocking. The profit margin must be enormous as this must cost about 5p to make.

For £15 you can get colour screen samsungs with vga cameras on payg...

The power draw will be far lower than any current mobile phone, it has a basic mono-LCD screen and clearly no fancy battery draining features at all. Therefore it will be able to function with a very small battery and get reasonable batterylife.

Missing the point. it's a basic, small phone that you'd rather take on a night out if there's a chance you might lose your rather more expensive mobile, i.e. out on the lash! .

I think it is marketed as a second phone and it's not meant to be your main phone. It's for when you don't want to take your "main" phone for fear of losing it or because you don't need the mp3 player/camera/internet. It's simply for making calls with your existing sim. They've sold tens of thousands in Tesco so there is obviously a demand for it.

That's not far off double the size, so not exactly comparable.

Good, if out running or biking and you dont want to take your brand new phone.

cheapest i could find is http://www.allorange.co.uk/productDetails/sim-free_bluechip_VX1i.html

seems like a good idea, if only they could make it thinner...at 10.3mm its too cumbersome for me to stick in my wallet and my trusty touch hd has already lived through a motorcycle crash..doubt this would

You need to familiarise yourself with the definition of the word "literally" and the appropriate context in which it should be used.

When you say "The buttons, battery life and screen on this vx1 are LITERALLY shocking" you are suggesting that the buttons, battery life and screen give you electric shocks. Which I doubt it does. You meant "shocking" in the hyperbolic sense (as in poor quality), and you can't pair LITERALLY with an exaggeration. I have not heard such incorrect usage since Simon Cowell spouted out the semantic mess that was "I literally misunderestimated you".

Stop using literally as a handy intensifier!

Just seen the specs and it doesn't so no use to me, shame. It would have been perfect to use as my on call phone when away from work, takes away the hassle of carrying 2 phones.

Personally, I wouldn't take this running - my iPhone or HTC Diamond2 goes with me to track my route/speed/distances plus looks after music as well (I run down canal paths etc rather than roads, before anyone tells me off for that!)

Personally wouldn't take it on a night out either - size wize its still too big to go in a wallet, so has to be pocketed anyway. And if I'm doing that I might as well take a phone that costs the same, but is ten times better like a cheap samsung or something. Anyway, I don't lose phones on nights out (have never lost one) so more than happy just taking the iPhone along.

So you don't disagree that you are semi-literate then, just responding with an enormous compliment!
