Well, you would be stick thin, that's for sure, and I suppose that is "good for you!"

I would rather have a recipe book written by most of the celebrity guests he has on F Word... just about every recipe he cooks in HIS style gets rejected by the tasters in favour of the celeb's version! No surprise either!

I think he is a good Restrateur, after his initial commercial failure, it must have pushed him into sussing out how the restaurant business all works, and has showed others how to as well, but purely on food alone... there are plenty I would be following before him - for one thing "fine dining" isn't much good domestically, and there are better "celeb chef'" types out there doing food that works well at home... eg Jamie Oliver, as snotty an urchin as he is! Even cheating old Delia (who is NO chef, and at best is a bit of a "cook" who wouldn't last five minutes in a real commercial kitchen!) does recipes that WORK at home, which so many "fine dining" (aka an updated "Nouvelle Cuisine"!) advocates fail to do!

Over the years I have bought far too many Cookery books, (and stil do!) and the ones I keep coming back to are not written by many of today's big names!
For those interested, some titles might be best looked for at www.thebookpeople.co.uk - one I noticed, Delia's cheat book is only £8.99 there instead of £13 at WHS... and Anjums' New Indian was cheaper too there may be more - and it is worth looking for vouchers on this site as sometimes there is free delivery, or its free over £25 anyway I think.
If you can't afford these sort of cook books in this credit crunch ask your nan for some good recipes!! very helpful
Great deals i got a load of books, can't wait for Gordon's, loved the food at Claridges so this should be good :)
Thanks - bought Nigel Slater's book for 3 squids - heat and rep left!
