This is an incredible deal if you have already got the basic cover through Quidco etc... over the past few months.

If you call the AA on 0800 048 2500 with your membership number and quote 2383
they will upgrade you to relay for £10
this means that if you break down they will bring you to any UK destination of your choice.

of course when it comes to renewal they will want to charge the full price so keep an eye on that for next time!

available until 30th June 2009
+ this is only available if you already have the basic cover
+ some users are reporting that this is only available on vehicle cover rather than personal cover, I think it's still worth a try as it doesn't mention this on the letter.

Excellent ,just called and done this .easy peasy.

So AA Vehicle Cover £27-£17 quidco=£10 + £10 relay =£20 to cover a family car for a years cover incl relay -bargain

Top Tip use a relative/friends house to register and you get effective free home srart
#2
just worked for me too - marvellous!
#3
Do you have to specify the car or does it cover any vehicle that you are travelling in ?

EDIT: Just checked £39.75 to cover you in any vehicle.

Also do you think by ringing up and upgrading to relay this will effect quidco ?
#4
Just upgarded for £10 excellent find...many thanks
#5
So the basic cover is £27 then £17 back off quidco then upgrade to relay for £10.Bargain is this the driver or car ie it wouldn't cover the wife if its a named driver only.

Can someone tell me what i need to do here to get best deal.
I want to join aa and i see you get this extra for £10 more,i am not a member of aa so what should i do,do i need to be a member for sometime to get this deal.
If i joined today what does it cost for basic and what do you get back from quidco.
And then what do i need to get next this deal, someone says to register with friend or relatives address why,is this with my new membership or with the upgrade.
I want to get this at best possible price with quidco with hopefully the upgrade mentioned here and what do i get for my money, hope this deal lasts if i did join aa today.

Please advise what i am best doing.

Read my post 2 up.

Gutted!
Ami right in presuming u can only get this if u already have cover?
Any way round this?
#9
If i am not a member of aa yet then i dont have a membership number,if i join right now will i have my membership number right away or need to wait as then this £10 deal might be gone by then.
#10
This is hot! Just signed up online, then phoned up to upgrade for £10, no problems at all.
#11
looks like a good deal
#12
joined this morning online but when i phoned up to add relay quoting the code they wanted to know where i got the code from. so i said a friend but they wouldnt let me have it as i had only just joined. i could add it but it would cost £50 to add relay.

also does anybody know if aa carry a diagnostics machine with them (and if so is it free) as my car currently has the engine control system failure symbol lit up and is misfiring but it could be a number of things inc spark plugs so i need an error code to see what exactly is wrong
#13
AA have a machine but wouldn't tell you the code.
Best option is buy a reader from Gendan - very useful tool to have and can save you a lot of money.
#14
great find OP, will give this a try..
#15
going to get mega hot
#16
heat added:thumbsup:

Does anyone know how you get around this, I am about to join and want relay included. You can get £40 discount with quidco so making it available for £36.50 (including relay)

However doing it this way it is only £20 which is much more attractive.

Also someone said to use a friends address to technically get free home cover, is there any implications in doing this, do they do any checks.
#18
don't know where I am going wrong cos I pay about £200 pa for AA cover and haven't used it for years!
#19
Gr8 - joined today and may leave it a day or two before ringing! Thankx OP
#20
Hot !!!

I've been waiting for a good deal for the AA and will be taking this up
#21
Just did this (i.e. just signed up for the basic cover via Quidco, then phoned up and quoted this code). The bloke seemed most confused and just said "ok, thanks...bye"! I asked when/how I pay the £10 to upgrade and he just said it would come out of my direct debit? Hopefully it goes through at the correct price!

Hot deal if so!! Thanks OP.
#22
gr8 find, i am still waiting on some of the money for quidco from the last offer AA done!
#23
heat addedd!

but can i just ask the OP or anyone les who may know, where did the code originate from, in case they ask over phone
banned#24
Can we have a clue as to where this code comes from for when the operator asks?

I've seen it posted on the Volvo Performance Club website... Guess OP pinched it from there and doesn't know?
#25
I just told the lady on the phone I had a leaflet through the door, worked for me! Great spot, heat added.
#26
Slightly off topic, I am going to sign up to the AA, my sister has also asked me to sign her up however, she doesn't have a quidco account and is one of the very few people below 30 without the internet or even a computer, could I sign her up via my quidco account and still receive the cash back?
#27
ciaozammer
yes - i got the code through an AA leaflet.

I think this is really a deal for existing customers - if you just joined it might be tricky

should be fine, worked for me just now. and im a member for about 15 min now.
#28
Yes - worked for me just now too! Only joined 5 mins ago!!!
#29

Try ringing again, you will probably get someone else - hopefully not a jobsworth!

Greenflag had one when we broke down so is possible.

We had a similar problem with a R reg Scenic not long ago ... replaced the Lambda sensor with a generic one which sorted it (@ +/- £25 - 10 min job) ... it could also be a ignition coil which can display similar behaviour ...the trick is finding out which one is faulty ... (yes, Scenic had one per cylinder)

Good luck... hope you get it sorted!!

Just phoned, and got the awkward question , What is from a letter you received? I said 'I think so', but it turns out the the code was only valid for vehicle memberships and not individual memberships! A bit embarrassing when he said the code didn't work!, especially after I said it was taken from a letter.
So if you have an individual membership it doesn't work.
#33
Joining online for £27 - £17 Quidco + quote code 2383 on the phone and pay another £10 worked fine for me too. Heat added - many thanks.
(My Roadside+Relay renewal was due to be £103 later this month, but I've just moved house so joined as a new fresh member with this offer. That might be comparing individual membership with one-vehicle-only cover, but if you only use one vehicle it's the same thing-)
#34
Can the OP change it to indicate that it is to upgrade 'Vehicle Cover' only - not 'Individual Cover'
#35
Just purchased the basic cover but forgot to go through Quidco - Doh

Is it too late ??

Cancel and reapply?
#37
I think you would need to cancel through the 14 day cooling off period and take out again, however I think the AA charge £13 to cancel provided you haven't used them within this period
#38
Brilliant deal. Joined 5 minutes ago, phoned up and got upgraded no probs at all.

Cheers OP
#39
I want to sign up through quidco. However I want it for me and my partner. I am assuming you can have more than 1 policy at an address?
#40
great deal- thanks
