if you re due to upgrade and call them you can ask for:
12mth contract | 500min (mix & match)| 3000min 3to3 network | 2GB internet allowance - upgrade custromers only.
(Told them i was getting 500min with T-mobile for £7.50 on 1mth contract, which is true).
Was paying £10 for same deal after end of contract.

Also they will only offer you the same number of minutes you were on, ie.My 500min contract ended and they would only offer me the same number of minutes (ie 500) , i needed more but they wouldnt m- anyway cant have it all :).

Anyway probably useful to someone as it halved my yearly bill from £120 to £60 inc VAT.

My last 3 contract came to an end in January 2011, and I did the above deal without getting a new phone, for £8 per month.

3 told me I was due for an upgrade in February, but if I opted to upgrade my phone at this time the cost of my contract would increase.

Can you explain this deal in a little more detail, such as, did you keep your old phone & Sim?

Do you think it's worth me calling them to try and get this deal?

If true, best deal I've ever seen by a long way even if it is on 3.

The problem I and others I know who are with 3 is that they never want to match any sort of offer, upgrade or not - they have some wacky system of generating upgrade tariffs and loyalty doesn't seem to matter.

Last time, someone posted 2k mins, unltd texts and 2gb net for 15pm/12months and no-one else who tried managed to get the offer, myself included.
Going to abstain but if anyone DOES manage to get this, please post!
#4
Could you put the price in the title please? Thanks.
#5
Good price.Do you get texts with this though?
#6
I'm on the age old - £5 a month for 300mins, unlimited texts, 25 video mins, 25 MMS and £5 free downloads. The only thing this doesn't have is internet allowance which is another £5 - so that's now £10 a month...

Wonder If I should change to this...

These are hit or miss deals. Much depends on the person you speaks in a team. I got my HTC desire, last year in August, (ok 24 months but HTC Desire still costs £250 a new) for £10pm 500 mins. 5k 3to3. 2.5GB Internet and 10 picture mail messages.

After few days, one of friends got 2k min plus the same deal as I have and some additional International minutes for HTC Desire for £10/PM.

From my experience I can say that haggle haggle and haggle if it doesn't work just hang up and try after couple of days.

why u need unltd text when whatapps are in the market and you have a 3g phone???????

3 seem to offer things randomly.
Gave in my months notice cos I had bought a handset and was on the hunt for a better sim only deal.
They gave me 70mins (ok for me cos i don't make many calls), unlimited texts and 2gb internet. All for £5.
What can you get for a fiver these days?
#10
I just got 300mins/text 50003to3 and 2.5gb internet for £10 per month on 12month contract that was best I could get when I was due my upgrade, and i tried a couple of times.
#11
Will give it a go and see.

With 3Network, 'Mix and Match' means 500min of calls or text.
Also good to know for those who tend to call abroad from their mobile phone - it will cost you some 3 or 4 times less by checking on http://www.dialacode.co.uk rather than calling from your 3 mobile - Thats what the 3 lady told me anyway, havent checked it yet, except that she told me this when i complained about the excessive international rates on my bill.

Yes you do keep your phone, SIM and number.

Well, lets say your contract ended with them and it was a 500min and you told them TMobile gives you 500min for 1mth contract for £7.50, they should theoretically give you better deal which in my case they did - if you are having difficulty getting anything from them, let me firstly get my new SIM and contract by post, and I dont mind telling my mobile number to confront them with it.
#14
good deal I will try to get this tomorrow I have 2 months left till upgrade
#15
They probably wont offer you anything near this deal given that your contract hasnt expeired yet, but you can always give it a try.
#16
Try http://www.whitecallingcard.com to make international call. You can buy it online and use landline numbers for access. Save the pin number and dial straight away. @@@ DO NOT dial 3 Mobile Access Number (a 6 digit number) cuz if on monthly contract you will get charged extra in other words no included in your monthly allowance. Cards start from as low as £1 value. Hope this helps.

No way!! I've tried umpteen times to get this off them and they just won't budge.

I'm about 5 years out of contract so maybe I'll tempt them with an offer to go back into contract...

I always sign up to a new contract as it makes no odds to me at such a low monthly amount...also got a cheap android phone for £30 and sold it for £80

Just phoned up 3 as my contract is up next month - they offered me 300 mins / 3000 texts / 1gb internet for £15/month on a 30-day contract.
I said I was thinking about going to Tesco, and straight away they offered me my current package (500 mix/match and 2gb internet) for £8/month (12 month flex contract) instead of ~£19 currently.

So I think it's worth having a go
#22
A good deal - :)
#23
this is by far the best deal on contract, might be worth switching
#24
I was thinking of leaving them completely - Not sure if I'll be tempted to stay especially if they don't offer me a super deal / won't budge....

You do get a brand new phone with the deal for FREE? So worth getting IF its only £5 a month and you sell the phone on??

I dunno - I might just leave anyway and go back to t-mob PAYG as my family are on it ... I'm confused!!!

OKAY - I will probably go for it if they offer me it for a fiver BUT am only currently on 100 mins so am on a **** deal for £10 a month ( with internet ) but I need MORE minutes really!!! .... Why won't they raise our minutes??
#25
I'm on this deal since January. Great deal. Loving it. Voted hot.
#26
Please do not get trapped in a Three Network contract if you intend to use internet related services on your phone.

They have the worst internet service on their network, check other unhappy customer's experience before you go in for a Three contract.

Google "internet connection problems on 3"

“Experience is the name every one gives to their mistakes.”

Funnily enough phoned last night to see about a deal (before I saw this), as was thinking of T-Mobile and Motorola Defy on a 24mth contract.

Currently I was on a 600 Contract (500 mins and 100 texts) with a bolt-on Internet 500mb allowance for £15pm, just completed an 18 mth Nokia 5800 contract. After only offering upgrade packages that were the same as for new customers we came around to a sim-only deal....

They offered me a 12 month flex Sim-Only deal containing the following:

500 mins
100 texts
5000 3-to-3 mins
2BG Internet allowance
Upgrade at any time to any deal.

All for ...... £5.62 (incl VAT) a month.

Taken, happy and now on the lookout for a nice Android phone...any recommendations ?

Can I be in line for your number and your Northerndave if you don't mind ? I have to wait til May then will hit them with it.

Hi Zameen,

I don't think our numbers would help, this deal may not be around in May. Three are notoriously cr*p at offerring great upgrade deals the first time you call. Last time it took 3 months to get to what I considered a good deal with them as a long-standing customer. This time I got what I consider is good (for me that is) within 2 calls over 1 week. The Operator could not even advise me if the deal would be avail the next day.

In the past, I've been offered a deal, thought overnight and called to take it on the next day and found the deal to be gone, it really is a random draw to see what you get offered. Perserverance and patience are the keys.
#33
cheers will call them
#34
Just tell them your mate got a TMobile 500Min no contract for £7.50 a month OR a Tesco 500min no contract for £10 a month - That was my argument anyway.

Quite happy paying £10 month as they always seem to give me a free phone thats worth more than the whole contract lol. Got a free HTC Wldfire in Jan :)
