My wife was on Orange Pay as u Go and she wanted a contract so i called up Orange and asked to be put through to the pay as u go Retenions team where they offered me this amazing deal, a free Nokia 6700 (new handset just released!!) 400 anytime any network mins and 300 texts plus unlimted landline calls its also free for her to call my Orange mobile using her magic number for just £9.79 a month.
After the order was put through i phoned up Orange general sales and the best they could do for me as a new customer was 19 quid for 100 mins and 100 texts so i think this is a great deal if u are with Orange pay as u Go
This is my first post so go easy!

my mother was on orange payasyougo and wanted a contract. i had just been through retentions for my contract and got sony w705 with 400 mins and unlimited texts for £15 (in june). So i called them from my mothers payasyougo phone and asked them to match it and they did, and she had a choice of all the free phones on dolphin 25 (which isnt a massive choice to be honest). seems if you have a family member on a good deal then you can at least match it! gonna sort out my wifes retention deal today. she was offered the nokia 6700 for 200 mins and unlimited texts for £9.79 a month. she is gonna pass the phone on for a price and buy ghd's though haha. heat added for this but know my wife is going to want lots of texts.

Bargain!

Looks like the Racoon 30 contract?
#14
Nice..

Might actually go for this one.
#15
I got a similar deal in Feb this year, only a 100 texts and 300mins plus a new phone (Nokia) for the same price.
Make sure you pay by DD and cancel all extra add on's, like video messaging etc, which was free for 30 days. A charge would of been made otherwise.

HTH.
#16
Retention deals depend on your usage I guess so there’s no guarantee many people will get this!
I had a cashback deal with O2 that cost me nothing for the year as I sold the phone and just wanted the SIM as a second number for a business venture. I made hardly any calls as I had another account and when I phoned to cancel they offered me £3 per month for 18 months for 200 minutes/400 texts with no free phone but supposedly a deal for life!.
I wasn’t looking for a deal but I now use it as my main phone. I’m very happy with that. :-D I imagine that if I had used the phone much they would have offered me a worse deal!
#17
Just off the phone with a nice chap who says can only do £14.50 since I have not topped up anything for last 3 months. Though he was ready to internet and lot more texts at that price.

cracking deal voted hot
#19
can you do this on t-mobile?
#20
I rang 02 to check the same but they weren't interested. Apparently if you are pay as you go, you get no preferential treatment. I just said I would go over to Orange in that case.

I just rang orange and they only have this phone in black, i wanted the silver so iv had to look elsewhere , iv just ordered the 6700 in silver from buymobilephones.net. free phone , t-mobile 18 month, 14.68 a month for 100 cross network min and 100 texts with 6 months free line rental so it works out around £10 a month in the end . op had better deal i know but i really did love the silver version .

as an FYI for those that like iphones, if you were thinking about getting the new 3GS, buying this and getting it on Pay as you Go comes out £200 cheaper!
ie 9.78*18 + 440 = 616 vs 35*18 + 185 = 815. slightly less minutes, but still the way to go i think! and you could sell the Nokia to make it even cheaper!
(i've just sent this to my friend who was looking at the 3GS - only issue is you'd have to jailbreak/unlock the 3GS)
#24
Damn, and I thought I did well with mine...
A month ago I got the same handset, same monthly cost, and exactly the same texts/landline/magic# - but "only" 200 minutes.

Am more than happy with that (it was a new contract when my old one was a few weeks from expiring - on the old contract I was paying about £14pm for 60mins and texts), but I could perhaps have haggled for more minutes or some internet useage...

Edit - very nice phone, though not the lightest.

they wont offer me anything like this on my contract upgrade
i thought you would have preferential treatment
#27
they offer me only 15pounds for 200 minutes so not that attractive. Can I ask you how much you topped up for last 12 months? thanks.

normally between 10 and 15 pounds per month
#29
That is the reason why you got such a generous offer.

just tried it as a laugh and they offered me 300 mins / 1000 (or 100?) texts for £9.78 per month

and either a LG KF300 or a LG KS360

i pushed soo hard for a nokia but he goes its £14 per month for that

so i asked for a pac code lol

was a friendly guy at retentions and said that the offers available are depending on the account usage

this sim has only been topped up once in the last year and a half and for a £10 top up which is on £4.xx now LOL (not mine, one of the kids)

still tempted to ring back and take em up on the deal lol

might get my mum to do this.

Not sure what im doing wrong, rang them up there because i figured you know why not.. its a good deal.

I said i was looking at switching to pay monthly and the guy i spoke to said that they arnt currently offering anything like the deal anyones mentioned and the cheapest contract is £15.

Im currently on pay as you go and top up £10+ a month. If you could run me through the process it would be greatly appreciated :)

see post 31 for what they offered me

you need to ask to be put through retentions to get some sort of deal

customer services will have no authority to give a special deal except the scripted carp deals

when i rang i said:

i said the little one has had this sim for a year or so and is always hogging my phone, i wanted to get her her own one so she can leave mine alone (in a jokey way), payg is too expensive to top up so im looking to go to a contract or something, he wanted to put me though sales but i told him to be put through to retentions as they gave me a good deal last time (im not even with orange lol)

then i discussed it with the retention fella who talked me through what he can offer
#35
anyone tried with one of those free sims?

o2 are doing a great 12 month deal atm for 800 minutes and 1600 texts at £19.85 a month, but works out just over £11 a month with the £100 cashback via Quidco. Best bit is the unlimited web usage as a free web bolt on. I have now ordered the iphone 3gs and have received the sim for this. Bargain!

Thats brilliant! 12 month contract, on O2, and you end up paying slightly less per month than the 18month monthly contract!!
Basically like giving you 6months free!
#39
Good Deal. Managed to get them to give me the same deal today for my wife's Orange PAYG.
#40
I called but they offered same for £19.99
