Ok so I have been on the lookout for a pushair and we finally agreed on the Uppababy Vista for a number of reasons.

1. It can have an additional seat or carrycot added to if required
2. One handed release of carrycot
3. Higher seat position
4. Overnight sleeping in the carrycot

And some others.

The puschair as standard comes with the chassis, toddler seat and carrycot - usually £699.

We have also wanted a car seat and isofix base.

Maxi cosi I am told works with the afapters that are already included in the £699 price. Maxi cosi have recently brought out a maxi cost pebble plus model - apparently more regulations are coming out and this car seat complys and has a nice little liner for new norms for extra protection. These are usually £190 everywhere, combined with the isofix base which is another £190.

So let's get to the deal.

I have just spoken with Lesters. A very reputable Manchester based retailer. They offered me the Uppababy vista in a choice of any of the colours (we chose blue), the Maxi cosy car seat for £779.

I also got the isofix base for £170 rather than £190 if I bought the puschair and car seat. Taking the price of you require the full package to £950. Rather than £1079.

I spoke with John Lewis who will price match if you wish. But I prefer the personable nature of this independent retailer who will install everything for you and show you how it all works. The puschair, car seat and base all come with a 2 year warranty - both Lesters and JL will deal with the manufacturers if there are problems on your behalf.

The other good thing about Lesters was they will take a 10% deposit and the rest in collection. They will hold the puschair, car seat and base until you would like to collect or have it delivered. Good if like us you have 3000 other things to buy.

is this pram indestructible? is it safer than other prams for babies or just ridiculously priced due to branding?

Probably the later to be honest. But against similarly priced rivals it worked best for us.

You are getting a £190 car seat for £80 basically plus £20 off the base. These puschairs and car seats rarely have much discounts. We looked at the silver cross pioneer which is £775 and includes the car seat - but the fold is not as good as the Uppababy

Thanks OP... We're after the same but without the car seat but didn't fancy paying full 699 price... How did jl offered to price match if it's in store deal? Also do jl price match bundled deals?

We even might be interested in the car seat if it's the three pebble plus and total price is £770...

I highly recommend the Uppa Vista. I've used it for 1.5 years now and love it.

No offence and it's just my opinion but I would prefer a stokke or icandy for that kinda money - residuals are better on them aswell --/ just my twopence , if you find this works for you good luck

I spoke to Lesters who offered the deal over the phone. I then spoke with John Lewis and i think they may call the store. The lady did say something about package deals and sometimes they will not price match.

I would suggest giving Lesters a call and seeing if they can do the puschair cheaper by itself. Certainly can't hurt. We were happy to get the car seat significantly cheaper.

We really did like the icandy too. It was quite a lot more expensive by the time you add thr carrycot, adapters.

The Stokke we thought was awful. It looks great for sure, but it is a shocker to fold and put up which is where I personally think the pushchair battle is won and lost. There are also very heavy. We spent quite a lot of time with all puschairs next to each other and doing the same thing trying to match what you would do with it day to day.

I like the strap for the icandy - it made it very easy sticking it in the boot of the car. But I guess we won't know if we have made the right choice until we use it for real - which is scary being first time parents.

Thank you. The only hesitation we had was the lifting and manoeuvring into the boot - is it ok?

For those considering iCandy...please bear in mind that the seat is not very big/deep and if your baby is tall he/she may struggle...we wanted iCandy but decided against it just for this reason...read the reviews for yourself....

Just rang Lesters and asked about the bundle deal....they didnt confirm or deny the offer/deal but said I would need to come into store as they not allowed to sell Pebble+ over the phone!...Might go over the weekend - just hope its not a wasted journey from Blackburn....I would be happy to pay the above price for the pram + car seat....

Did you speak to Mike? He is the guy that sorted his for me. £779 for the puschair and pebble plus car seat and £170 for the base.

Ask for him and tell him you were aware of this from Lee who you sold the same package to yesterday. I didn't badger them for this deal he just did it. Good luck

This was one of the reasons we steered clear of them too. Plus if you are really wanting to use it for 2 children it's very low down and not a great position for the bottom seat. Whereas the Uppababy looks better for this.

It's no more difficult than the icandy. The other thing that we were told when we bought it was, although covered by guarantee, the number of defects or replacements that you need with a Uppa Vista is far less than with the icandy (which JL apparently get lots of and have poor customer service with ICandy). They were implying that it is made much better. My LO is very tall and we are still using the pushchair perfectly fine, so this isn't an issue for us.

I have the Vista - really like it. However check out the Britax Smile - I believe Britax bought the rights to the Vista - seems almost identical and cheaper.

thanks for this... It does look exactly the same! Not sure if it's a copy of the vista 2015 model or of the earlier version... However we need a double pram hence the vista choice but there doesn't seem to be any kind of double /single function advertised for the britax smile which is strange?....

Friends for ours know someone in the trade. They got the same car seat and base for the trade price - which was £240. In effect this deal is only £10 more. But I guess you are paying full price then for quite an expensive pushchair. Unless it's half price you never get heat.
