I haven't shopped in Primark since they were caught out by War on Want and the BBC using suppliers that exploited workers and used child labour (children as young as 9).

Do you seriously think that other retailers aren't doing exactly the same? Primark are no worse than any other retailer.

Some do, some don't,
Primark got outed, but still use "factories" that use child labour.

Funnily enough...

You yawned at exactly the same time as this young girl 11 hours into her shift.

The 'they are better working than starving on the streets' argument was used in this country during our own historical period of child labour. The assertion was normally made by those that profited from said labour, a bit like you.

But who wouldn't want to buy their 8 year old Daughter a padded bra? Am I right!?

Yawn!

But why pick on Primark - they're no worse than any other chain retailer. Don't think for a minute that the others are any better, just because they charge you more.

This post has potential to rival the heated debates that ensued on the 5p Asda curry sauce deal. :p

Just to let everyone know, this has been ongoing for a while now. I grabbed a few 20p bargains last week at the Cardiff store, but ended up putting most back again as they'll only end up in the bin. I've got plenty of scarves and hats already that are unused!

And on the topic of the clothing themselves, I hear so much about the labour involved in production and it does put me off a little, but I don't know what to believe so I carry on shopping. And although Primark is always a last resort store for me, they do happen to have some pretty fashionable stuff there (as well as the tacky stuff), but you get what you pay for in terms of quality.

Look at it this way primarks cheap and affordable by almost everyone. How would you like to see chavs in dirty filthy reebok and nike tracksuit bottoms with wholes in when for £1 they can get a new pair. Plus who cares what happens 2000+miles away. If you stop buying a t shirt over here they will keep makei g t shirts over there so its a pointless gesture

It's great to know you're the voice of reason with such a poor level of literacy skills.

Prim\rk are owned by Associated British Foods - so unless you want to boycott all of these companies http://www.abf.co.uk/our-companies.aspx there's no point being choosy about one.

Brands include Kingsmill, Ryvita, Ovaltine, Sunblest, Twinings, Mazola and many more.

Voted hot! altho i hv no intention of purchasing any of it~ :D

About the padded bras for kids comment. I myself thought that maybe it's padded just for the softness, and not actually for any other reason. Non padded may be scratchy, but if you add a bit of soft padded, wouldnt it be more comfortable?.

i dont like primark just because i have never actually had a chance to look around as its full of students and kids in prams that ALWAYS scream!. I can't cope with it at all. It would be fine if they all vanished!.
