Used to charge most USB devices that are capable of being charged Via a computer USB port. This is 1000mA instead of the 500mA of a normal computer port, so can give a little extra 'juice' should it be required.

Ordered a USB plug charger from dealextreme in December last year.
Was delivered within two weeks, has a UK plug and works fine.
HOT!

I bought a retractable Ipod lead from these guys - it broke within seconds! You do get what you pay for - beware guys. A bit slow on the posting too. Sorry to sound negative but I thought you should know;-)

While delivery has always been slow for me from DX the quality has been fine, just be aware though that they will be busy catching up with orders placed over the chinese new year so may mean a delay of a further few days.

Is the extra "juice" safe for my ipod, I do need a more powerful one for my N800 and charging my portable battery pack.

Voted hot - many Windows Mobile PDA/phones need 1A to charge properly, especially from flat, so the Play charger (and, for that matter, my laptop) won't cut it.
Not gauranteed to work with all devices though - some require signals on the USB data lines as well as the 5v pins before they'll start charging, which this device won't provide. But at this price, it's handy to have around.

Yes it is safe because the ipod will only use how muchcurrent it needs and devices have control over the plug not the plug on current. know this as i am a electronic engineer. Having this extra current means some items will not take that long to charge compared to the 500mA plug. Have this plug also means you not straining the plug compared to the 500mA meaning it should last longer.

i would advice to get a plug with CE marking on plug and this one has it according to pic
took me so long to get the link as it does not take you to the link direct and here the link which you can just click it not copy and paste like the over one.http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2380

Thanks for your help on this, I did find it really hard to get my ipod to charge on a 500ma plug, it would start then stop, we have two ipods and we had to plug them in about a dozen times before they would keep charging so this might do the trick. These are perfect for holidays (when they chrge), last time I took a 500ms plug and retractable USB lead with interchangable heads, it charged almost everything.

still waiting for my orders on beginning of Feb.
Price is hot, delivery is so slow...

I ordered this one some time ago and have now used it. It says on the plug, 1000MA +- 5%. I've tried it on all 3 of my iPods (Shuffle, 3G iPod and Classic) and it's not chrged any of them - does charge everything else though without any issues.

For those commenting adversely against the delivery time... I ordered on the 22nd and it arrived just now. I don't think that's too bad from Hong Kong. Haven't tried it yet - but it does say 1000mA - not the 1500mA as suggested in one of the reviews.

EDIT : As per a previous poster it doesn't work on my MP3 player (Creative Zen) but does on other USB powered items e.g. SatNav
