i haven't added heat for one reason

the keyring attachment is just incredibly fragile

i really have no idea why the manufacturers of these drives don't design them to be properly durable.

after all - you need somewhere safe to hold your personal info, or bank details, or missile launch codes

your pocket?

I looked at one of these before and noted that 7dayshop specifically tell you not to use the keyring. Which makes you wonder why it's on there. Having twice mislaid 8gb sticks (from my pocket) I much prefer keeping my current one on a keyring.

lol i can't believe this is going down, because of people's carelessness rather than the price

It's not carelessness, they're really badly made. I've had a couple too, and the keyring bit's so flimsy.

Don't care about keyring mount, this will be ideal for me. Hot, and thanks!

Same here!
Replaced my tatty two year old, been everywhere, PNY attaché with one of these for use at work - by lunch time on the first day the key/chord ring was like a straightened paper clip – useless!

If you use a chord or key ring - don't buy one of these.

yeah , the keyring bit is an absolute joke (although the lanyard itself isn't so bad), but the drive itself is pretty good. decent transfer speeds, and plenty tough enough to be well thrown about.
