Thats it Im done with USB Drives.

I bought one from play, someone linked me to the above so I cancelled that and now another link to a drive that has more speed. Sick of it, you cant win with these drives, theres always something faster for a few quid difference that you find after having paid for the last one.

Great - thanks.
I'll send back the one from Play which I ordered 2 weeks ago & has still not been dispatched.
Heated.

Edit: the one on Amazon looks very breakable. And I can't find any independent verification of its speed.

That's because the guy in the first review is running one of these over USB 20.0! ;)

i have the one from amazon, and its actually pretty though, i dropped my laptop and the usb drive smacked into the floor and fell apart, wires were holding it togeter, glued it together and it works as good as new.
#14
tempted by the amazon one couldn't see where the read write speeds were though?

i have one and its about 15 MB/s write speed, and bout 30 MB/s read. so probably worth it if moving large files. as its twie as quick as this 7dayshop one

Why?

The 7 day shop one looks a decent buy (especially compared to the current Play deal) but even if it's maximum write speeds are true in practice then according to Amazon reviews and anecdotal evidence from your fellow HUKDers the Bytstore has twice the write speed.

absolutely

These things make me sick. I have a friend who just got back from China, and he bought a stick which holds 240GB and it cost him £5. There's a rip-off, and then there's England.:p

Is...Is a 240GB stick even possible? I mean Im pretty sure it isn't. Yet I mean.
#21
If they were selling them in China you'd think they'd be flogging them on ebay...

I'm sorry but if you think you can get a drive of that size anywhere in the world for a fiver you are a mug.

LOLLLLLL

most of the memory sticks on ebay china are fakes and/or come with compression software.

240gb would either be a fake or a hard disk not a memory stick (which go to 32gb at the moment).

Really?
A 240gb flash drive for a fiver is clearly going to be either a fake or a joke by the guy that posted it, but you can get drives that size. It'll be a loooong time before we see them for five quid though... ;)

the one from china is clearly fake, BUT you can get 256gb usb from reputable company Kingston:

Excellent link
I have been done on ebay three times with memory (once from US with a PNY 16gb was fine and good, though - using it now) - stupidly - there won't be a fourth.

Of course you should. I also noticed your post on the other listing and considered posting this deal well before Sotty2 did, but as I didn't actually 'find' it, I thought it would be stealing credit from you.

At least if I had posted it, I would have credited you in the listing.....

Fayther, Looking at the temperature, I think you should have posted it! I frequently scan through 7dayshop's "specials" page. When I spotted this I did a search for 7dayshop offers to make sure it was not posted previously. All that showed up was http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/usb-drive-16gb-14-49-7-day-shop-del/774022
I note that the blue version has had a price reduction today (now £12.99 too)
