These dont work with all keyboards.
#3
I've found these often only work with certain PS/2 keyboards and mouse

From a technical point of view this will slow things down on your comp.
Would be better to look for a keyboard/mouse that already has teh correct connection for your pc.
Not voted either way as doesnt interest me, just offering some advise from an ICT Student

Why would it slow things down on the computer?

Spend £5 on an Asda Smartprice USB keyboard instead.

don't agree with that, but most older PS2 mice dont have the resolution needed for modern high res screens , unless you like a slow pointer speed.

How on earth has this hit the front page?

I use this to connect my pc keyboard to my Ps3 usb port :)

Hot:thumbsup:

keyboards and mice can be designed to work in both PS2 and USB mode, and the little adaptor is merely a connector changer which tells the keyboard to switch to PS2 mode.

not all USB mice and keyboards can do this. if you have an old but special keyboard and want to convert it, there are intelligent devices which make it possible, but they are necessarily more complex of course! Something like this I believe will do it:

Good deal! I have one so I can use a small PS2 keyboard with my xbox. Doesn't slow your computer down either, at least not by a noticable amount!

Huh???

oh no, grammar/spelling pedantry comes to HUKD!

BTW, if anything, USB will slow a computer down more than PS2.. but the overhead is so tiny as to be unnoticeable unless you had a 10 year old computer!!

Isn't this a PS/2 to USB converter? Since... nevermind :?

PS/2 is outdated now, most keyboards/mice use USB nowadays, even the cheapest ones.

sweet, you never know when your going to need that PS2 mouse again(lol)
