EVERYTHING on DealExtreme is cheap. We don't have to post each and every product
#2
I feel your comment is a little unfair. This seems a jolly good deal with some interesting technology. If we follow your suggestion Sir then the purpose of this site fails.

If i find a deal i think is useful whats wrong with posting it? i doubt people have time to search each and every item, besides somethings are cheap and some things are a bargain
banned#4
could a mod add the pic for me pls
#5
The whole deal forum relies on people posting what they think is a bargain on any site. We have post after post from hmv / tesco /argos etc i don't see anyone complaining about them..

Those stores price things at regular prices, and occasionally offer bargains, whereas at DealExtreme almost everything is at bargain price
#11
Yes i know that but when something useful comes up from there, there is no harm done in posting it after all that site has lots of stuff [bargains and junk] It is very easy to miss something. It's not the best place around i know i have been waiting 3 months for 2 toptoys but they are not to bad on delivering none DS stuff.

A hot deal is still a hot deal even if the site offers a thousand other hot deals. At least he isn't posting paypal/ebay vouchers or multiple versions of the same deal
#13
It was a point to ponder on and not intended to be degrading....and definitely not to start a discussion on.

Well ponder on your own time there are deals to be had :-D

I'd like to know how this is the greenest charger in the world?

does it use magic pixie dust to charge the batteries with :whistling:
#16
It's the same as the Uniross charger sold with 1000mah AAA batteries here:

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3398493/Uniross-USB-Battery-Charger-Plus-4-x-AAA-Rechargeable-Batteries/Product.html

Takes a long time to charge, but on the upside - long charge times = longer battery life. On the downside - it doesn't automagically switch off after charging = shorter battery life (doh!) Charge times are around 6 hours for the 1000mah AAAs I have.

I bought the uniross one to go with my iGo stowaway .. usb is most convenient!

Site appears to be really well priced, how can they ship to the uk "Free Shipping" as mentioned at these prices? if not any idea if this is worthwhile after adding on the shipping costs.

EXACTLY! surely it uses the same amount of electricity to charge as if u were charging off the mains. It just drains it off ur laptop or computer... which gets its power in turn from the mains. So not green at all surely?

upside - long charge times = longer battery life.

I have read numerous times that the opposite is true. The longer it takes to charge, the shorter the life of the rechargeable battery - hence the 15min chargers are the way to go.

Well if you were going to use a mains charger instead you could argue the AC/DC conversion for that being wasteful if you've got the PC on anyway I suppose.:whistling:

there are no shipping costs - i've used dealextreme a few times - sometimes takes a wee while for stuff to get to you.but if you're prepared to wait it's not a problem.
#26
DX are excellent. Free shipping, and tonnes of excellent wee gadgety-like items to keep even James Bond happy...Ohh, and dirt cheap too - it's almost like were stealing from them when you consider postage and packaging costs

The man behind DX deserves a nobel peace prize!
#27
Green...how?

i keep my laptop on for 10+ hrs to charge them..hmmm...cold for me

and talking about how much Co2 would have been emitting it from exporting from the kingdom far far away ...

its time we act now...i m moving more towards buying local....

I would never have known about dealextreme if it hadn't been for a post about LED torches a good while back, so the occasional post is quite useful for us new boys!

Great deal too, comes in useful for wiimotes / xbox controllers..
#29
I would go for this one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.67 for £3.30 for 4 batteries and with auto shut off.
#30
Nice one nbizzle.

Ignore people like phiras - who are unable to comprehend the purpose of the site and the fact it has new users sign up every single day.
#31
Great idea!
much prefer this though so I can play Starsky & Hutch around the rough streets of the shires, look out pikeys theres a new law enforcer in town!

banned#33

Suppose you could argue that... but what happens when u just need to charge the batteries and then have to put the computer on especially?

use the usb device in ure dvd player

Good price but please drop the "green" tag. The charger requires power just as if it was plugged directly into the mains so it's no "greener".
