I have bought quite a few of these over the years, they seem to last a few weeks then I get messages on the phone saying that its not supported and either wont sync or wont charge. I got so fed up I just bought one from the Apple store, although I was moody as hell forking out £15 for it..... thats life I guess! As my mother says, if you pay peanuts you usually get monkeys.... and for me these always turn into a load of monkeys!

It's funny last time there was one of these cables I was posting saying how fake ones were no different. But then two weeks later both my cables stopped working. I thought it was the inside of my phone or something until i tried a friend's genuine cable. It is true the fake ones will stop working or act weird after you've used them for a bit.

Play were selling genuine ones for £6-£10. Beats Apple's price.

At this price by 20 or 30 of them... Although why you're using Apple products is beyond me.

Although why you commenting in an Apple thread when you clearly have a dislike of Apples products is beyond me.

mixed reviews, almost as many good as there are bad. guess its pot luck if you get one that works

A cable delivered for nearly the cost of a stamp. Really highlights the sad state of Royal Mail.
I'm guessing this has already travelled round the planet at a profit.

It's so stupid. All Apple does with these special connections is create a market for fakes.
Go USB 2.0/3.0 and stop messing around like you own the world.

I think you'll find that Apple do a Dock Connector to Micro USB adapter so you can use a USB cable to charge your device if you feel that's easier

But that is both missing the point, and creating further unnecessary awkwardness.
The need to have the elitest, propriety dock connector is the annoyance - when the rest of the world already own USB-Micro USB data leads.

I bought a few fake cables about 18 months ago, and they're all still working... I guess it's just luck of the draw.

Go USB 2.0/3.0 and stop messing around like you own the world.

Apple have always used the 30 pin dock connector, since the first iPod in 2001. Since then, it has pretty much become a standard, given the number of iPods, iPhones and iPads in circulation. To change it would lead to all third party accessories being useless.

There's been a lot of talk about them wanting to change it because of the bulkiness of the port compared to the likes of microUSB. Will not be surprised if they come out with a new propitiatory connector for the iPhone 5, the same size or smaller and not compatible with the industry standard (microUSB).

I would be very surprised if they changed their port to the micro USB.

I love the fact I can dock my phone and listen to music without cables lying around.

It really is a great design. If apple did change it im sure it would be similar and allow for docking.[img][/img]
