Nice little gizmo for streaming audio from your PC / Laptop / Netbook.

Transmits an short-range FM signal which can be picked up using any standard FM receiver (home, car, personal radio etc).

A cheap way of streaming any audio from iTunes, Windows Media Player, Shoutcast, Spotify, YouTube, etc to your analogue FM tuner. (I will be using mine for a cheep wireless DJ/music streaming solution!)

Range (at 50nW) is about 8 Meters (UK Legal Limit for these kind of devices), which doesn't take into account walls, power cables or any other kind of interference - but it should be in keeping with these kind of devices.

the official blurb here...

"USB FM TRANSMITTER
A compact pen-drive style USB FM audio transmitter that makes it easy to play your computer music through any FM radio within range. Simply plug it into your computer USB socket and install the supplied software. Your computer will see the device as another sound card and the supplied software allows you to set the desired frequency. Very effective and very easy to use.
Frequency range: 87.5 - 108MHz Power: 50nW
Compatible with Windows 2000, Xp, Vista, 7"

** this was removed previously as I posted as an Amazon Marketplace deal (which is mostly prohibited by HUKD - sorry, was not aware of that particular policy.) I have relisted using the supplier's own website.**

What's the range of these things? Does the PC have to be pretty close to the radio?

The official answer from Keene is...

"This is very difficult to answer as various factors can effect the range. The sensitivity of the radio, the signal strength, how many walls it is going through , thickness of the walls etc. The range will be limited like other wireless senders and all above factors can play a part."

I will let you know more when I get one.

OK - doing a bit of calculation...
50nW = about 8 Meters (not counting obstructions as mentioned in my last post)
