Could be stolen considering that's where Microsoft manufactures its stuff anyway.
banned#5
it is fake as its rrp was only $9.50 where the rrp over here is double that

I've ordered various items from china, hong kong & singapore, some have turned out to be 'un-officially' branded but they still do the same job official products do, after all, they all come from the same country they're made in. Also, the reason why the RRP is double over here is that we are also paying for the brand name, not just the product.

Back to the topic, if you are wanting one of these, but don't want to risk losing £4.01, you can get one of these from the UK for the same amount or slightly more as there are loads of 3rd party copies available in various colours, just copy the topic title & search with google, then select 'Pages from the UK' on the left had side

Used to be able to get these free off Microsoft as there really old transfer kits never worked with the elites and newer premiums. Really glad i kept mine. Might still be able to claim for a free one as well.

Yea, that's what I was thinking! I've still got my transfer cable that MS provided me with, would I be able to back things up onto a PC or external hard drive using it?

You can use a usb stick now to move saves from your old xbox to new. It takes a while but most people have one lying around.
#10
I'm curious because the last time I used one of these (20GB to 120GB) you had to have the correct disc and there's no mention of it here.
#11
I'm voting COLD as you can just use a USB flash stick to do the exact same thing. Don't waste money if you're looking to transfer between hard drives.

No, you can't - quite a few save games can't be transferred and it takes ages to do so with a memory stick since you have to do files individually and only accepts up to 16GB.

The official ones don't come with disks, they added the software into the last firmware update.
When i attached my 120GB drive to my new 250GB Slim a message came up to say that it had found the drive and then entered the transfer menu.

This option is good for transferring save games but if you want to transfer your xbox live games or DLC then a transfer kit is the best option as when you move the content with USB the license doesn't get moved across. So if you go offline the content won't work.

i dont agree with microsoft charging for these so for that reason im not gonna vote.

these are rubbish, i brought one back along to transfer my saves to my elite when the official ones where hard to get. the picture may look like the microsoft one, but its a cheap copy. once you get your saves on your pc you have to work through poor english menus. i cancelled the transfer and brought a official one that allows you to transfer just using your 360

they maybe cheap, but i think paying a little extra so you dont lose your saves is a wise investment (_;)

just thought I'd say this isn't needed anymore - If your xbox is up-to-date, then a few months back an update allowed the use of USB memory sticks to transfer data to and from xboxs. Works fine.

is this the device you need to update the pro evo option file? I know you cant just download them on your pc and transfer via an sd card, but I could never find out what I needed to put them onto the xbox
#23
I picked one of these up for free about a year ago when they started charging for them. All I did was email them asking for the form to get it free and they emailled it to me. If I can sill find it on my pc I'll try and get it on the net somewhere

All game saves can be moved. Not all can be copied though.

cold... just use a usb memory stick instead

You could go to play.com, and purchase a 4GB USB memory stick for a little more than the price of this. Not only does it do the same job, but you can use it again and again, rather than just once and then throw it away.

Why would you throw it away?
Of course, you could use another method, but to say it does the same job is untrue and misleading.

I could transport something in my VW Polo in bits, but a van may be a better option for me.
