Hmmm... that could make a cheap xbox 360 cooler. Whats the noise level like?

Although good value, as a netbook owner i really dont find my dell mini to get above vaguely warm.

I concede for my older laptop I do have a cooler as that gets much warmer

Shouldnt title say Notebook NOT NETBOOK?
#7
Does it matter that much?

Anything that says "Cool blue LED light" is normally tacky, badly designed and somewhat pointless.

You may want a notebook cooler if you have an old Athlon mobile CPU, but as it will be getting on a bit now you wont want to be wasting the precious little battery life on an extra fan!

What? Netbook vs notebook? It would get more heat and be a better buy as a notebook cooler, netbooks barely get warm, in fact the extra power this draws could somewhat negate the cooling effect, a netbook is 10" or smaller, a notebook upto (I think) 15" and tend to get warmer so would be more use and appeal to a bigger market.

Oh

I just looked at the pictures

I'm a bit nervous about getting one of these, it's from poundland. I can just see it accidently being left on for too long and setting on fire.

It's meant to be a cooler, not a flamethrower :whistling:

I think you'll find Poundland has to abide by the same safety standards as every other retailer in the UK so your attitude is a bit stupid.

cool....worth it for a £!

You can always cut the LED out - would save a little battery life I suppose and it's really not necessary!

Not really this has a great practical use! Try ripping a dvd/ encoding some video and watching the laptop temperatures go through the roof! this will come in handy. Battery life is not a problem, laptops can be plugged in you know :whistling:

You see these all the time on ebay for a fiver, and advertise them as being a cooling fan for PS3, Notebooks, etc.

Anyone shoved one under their PS3 and seen any significant difference?

Hot deal if you ask me ;-)
#22
Is it ironic to vote this hot?
#23
Only thing you need to do to keep your notebook cool is to make sure the side vent is never blocked i've left mine on a bed for hours on end with the vent clear it hasn't got hot

That advice is only any use if every notebook was designed the same. And we all used your bed. Otherwise, its pretty useless.

Hot deal for a £1.

Does it have to be FHM? Will a copy of Razzle do the job as well?

i second this, although i use a copy of "love it" anything glossy seems to improve the effect...although its probably just in my mind.

my folding aluminum one is in a different league.

:D
#32
Did it cost a pound?
#33
laughing out loud here...a £1 flamethrower indeed! :-)
#34
Hey that would go under my PS3 that in the cupboard, should circulate some air!
#35
I'd be very impressed if something that draws the small amount of power that you can get via usb could set on fire not matter how long you left it on!

As for the comment re: removing the LED light, Led's use a teensy weensy bit of power, it would be the fan that could potentially run your battery down quicker but even that won't use a great deal it's only very light plastic that it is having to whizz round

Good deal for a £1.00

I live in Ireland and we don't have Poundland here. Anyone want to buy me one and I post it? I will Paypal the funds of course :)

If you removed the LED light and the fan you would certainly run a far less risk of running your battery down

Agree here ... don't understand peoples mentality that if something is cheap it is rubbish.
Here's something to consider and help understand peoples behaviour perhaps.

Many years ago someone invented the water filter cartridge / jug thingy ... they tried to sell it but failed to do well... they got some marketing experts in who said the item was priced too cheap, so they increased price by like 1000% and marketed it as an "must have" item towards the fitness fanatics and higher income groups. And still it sells today.

Don't get me started on sell by dates hehe

Hot price BTW
