The USB Panic Button looks just like one of those emergency buttons you see in the movies - you know, the ones that launch missiles, shut off power, eject seats from fighter jets and cause Daffy Duck to lose his beak and feathers. It's even got one of those flip-open perspex covers and is covered in yellow and black warning stripes. Perfect for adding a suitably CIA-esque touch to your desk.

For all the g33ks out there !

I got a USB missile launcher for my leaving present at work. I wonder if you could combine the 2????
#4
Hey give shimagoza a break all you cold voters. Yeah the product might not be to your taste but it still a reasonable deal to those whose boat it does float.

Voted warm.

Well it doesn't float in my boat

and for that reason I don't think it's a good deal, hence I voted cold

and that's another crap product - i got one of those, what a waste of 20-odd quid plus batteries, i can't even get it to reliably fire the missiles!

I wish ppl would stop buying (and selling) this type of junk.

Firstly, its annoying to receive something so lame as a gift.

Secondly, and more importantly, it WILL end up buried in a landfill site somewhere.

Think of the planet guys.
#9
nope!
#10
Well sorry you lot thought it to be such a "cold" deal.
I can't find it anywhere cheaper?!

I'm not trying to sell it to you or it's function but it is the cheapest usb switcher around. No, not the best, no not the most functional.
But yes the cheapest.

I appreciate that it is not up everyones street but it will appeal to some people and therefore may be considered a hot deal by them.

*blah* :whistling:

what does it do?

Some people on here just don't get it. This is not about personal preference. If you hated apples but Tesco were selling them for a penny each would that mean because you don't like them it is not a good deal and voted cold. OF COURSE NOT!!.

I don't know whether this is cheaper or naff or whatever but there is a trend on here just to vote cold for badness rather than actually looking at the deal on it's own merits.

Out of order if you ask me.

what does it do?

It brings up a 'boss screen'. However, before you get one of these for that purpose, do bear in mind the effect on most bosses of seeing one of these on your desktop. It may only be £10, but it could cost you your bonus.

Of course it's about personal preference.

If you see something you don't even like, and you don't think it's worth that amount, you have the right to vote Cold

It's all about personal opinion

I cant see the point in this.

Thanx for that CT and Hugh, it can be extremely off putting for new posters if they get negative posts. I feel this website should be about sharing opportunities with each other. It's not about boasting or personal buying habits. If we've all got the "option" to buy something at the price advertised then it's up to you as an individual to decide if you "personally" would need/buy it.

Just trying to spread some discount love thats all...:whistling:

It';s essentially a one button input device but comes with softwaer that allows you to hot swich between programs.

So really all it does is give you a physically direct route to an application.
IE. Hit button and up comes Internet explorer or a game, or a spreadsheet, or a.... etc etc.

It's a bit of fun for under £9 thats all :p

If you think an item is a piece of cr#p then you are not gonna pay £9 for it, therefore it's not a Hot Deal - that's personal opinion & free choice.
If it's so much cheaper than it's nearest equivelent rival, but still a piece of cr#p then it's still not a hot deal based on personal opinion, but you can always post that it's the cheapest piece of cr#p of it's kind?!?!
If someone like BoristheSpider comes along talking sense, don't rubbish what he says because he's right (in MY opinion) & if people stopped buying cr#p then the manufacturers wouldn't make money & they would stop producing more cr#p like this!!!

And finally, don't expect an easy ride because you're a newbie. There are tons of fantastic bargains to be found on these pages & if new posters spent some time looking at deals already posted they'd have a better idea of what makes a Hot Deal. A large number of first posts include something along the lines of "Be gentle it's my first time" (stop laughing BristolDeal), but if you've done your homework then they wouldn't need to say it!?!?!?
There have been new members who have come up with some fantastic & seriously hot deals for their first or early posts so I believe you'll find that people aren't actively hunting down newbies just so they can slate 'em for a laugh, they're just deciding if a deal is hot or not.......

You might find it hard to believe that I mean it but welcome to HUKD by the way!?!?
#25
I voted hot, it's a gadget that I'd find hard to use but I have a house full of them anyway. I think (going from experience) if you complain too much about people voting 'cold' then others tend to vote cold just to spite you. Especially on an item that 99.9999% of people wouldn't buy for £1. Best let it drop and people will ignore it.

Still as I said, I voted hot.

Shimagoza

Credit to Shimagoza for taking all the criticism on the chin.
Most've us have posted deals that we thought were decent & would be popular & they've barely registered, sunk or ended up frozen to death!?!?!
The main thing is to keep at it & if this one hits the skids then laugh off the jokes & move on to the next one...if it gets personal it's gone too far, generally people are just having a laugh & expressing an opinion.
Keep the deals coming & the bad ones vanish from people's memory like a f#rt in the wind!!!
Once again, welcome shim

It wont go into a landfill if ppl stop buying such items - the manufacturers will stop/cut down on making such items without 'demand'.

I know you're all gonna attack me, claiming its all personal preference, but lets be honest here - is it really worth.....

a) spending £9 on a joke button which does nothing useful when,
b) you will unplug it after a few days and never use it again, so
c) it ends up either in the loft or buried in a landfill site!

Welcome to the gang

However, i agree with the apples for a penny statement too - a good deal should not just be based on personal opinion.......but when it comes to all the crappy, pointless, useless items manufactured (at the cost of the environment) in this world, i get a little pissed off.

If it were my call i would introduce a system where manufacturers can only produce a product if it meets set criteria, monitored by a dedicated regulatory government body, to be worthy of production.

It will never happen, but it would be nice!
