I would like to know the answer to that as well - are we talking 10 minutes of cranking to get 10 minutes play time or what ratio might you expect ? Looks good if its effective

Probably the question everyone wants to know!
There is a product here that is a media player that is powered by a wind-up thingy ... they claim 1 minute wind-up for 40 minutes play ... if we assume there's all of these engineered wind-up thingy are generally the same (?) then there might lie the answer ....... ?

mind you ... a minute's a long time if you're winding!

I have a freeplay wind up radio, that I don't have any problems playing all day, it runs on 3 xAAA batteries (a few 30 second winds per day & as I walk from room to room) I use it 8+ hours per day, charge your item properly then top up by winding as you travel, say 2x 30 seconds on say a 40 minute train journey (or similar).
Easier than you think but less hassle when it's actually built into the actual product you are usingat the time.

Go for it, easy to adapt to. ..just don't let em go flat, a regular proper charge from time to time via usb or whatever)
