I'm a Nikon guy (mainly) but I use these cameras quite a bit and this is a great deal. Shutter counts are up to 180,000 on these used cameras for sale by WEX but are very well built. Definitely a great Christmas present to be had here, I'd buy one for myself if I could justify a fourth DSLR!

What else can I say Full Frame, 1080p Video, 20.9 MP, weather sealed for £519 with 12 month warranty!.

Or if your 7d duplicated.

The "condition 7" bodies might be a bit ropey with scratched sensor etc, but a couple of hundred more fetches a much tidier "condition 9"

I'd go for this one: http://www.wexphotographic.com/buy-used-canon-eos-5d-mark-ii-digital-slr-camera-body/p1609905
40,000 shots, so plenty of life left. That being said I bought a D3s from WEX a few months ago with 600,000 shots for £600! It's never bothered me that much when buying from WEX because of the warranty even though it does not cover the shutter mechanism. I don't kmow about Canon but Nikon only charge abut £200 for a shutter replacement so a high count might be worth it?

What do you shoot with now?

I sold my 5dmk2 3 years back as i wasn't using as much and picked up a 7dmk1, but have missed it since. Crop sensor doesn't cut it, when you've been using a full frame for years.

I get what you mean I shoot Nikon (mainly) and I have a D3s and D700 (full frame) and a crop D7100 and on a number of occasions I have been caught out shooting with just the D7100, which is a great camera for wildlife and sport but when doing portraits, still life, landscapes and street you want a full frame if you have ever used one.

Yeah the colours are quite natural, image not as crisp and require editing. From the 5D they'd be ready to use!

The "condition 7" bodies might be a bit ropey with scratched sensor etc, but a couple of hundred more fetches a much tidier "condition 9"
How the heck do you scratch a sensor?

Nice camera, was also a Canon guy before converting to Nikon. Used the 5D for a while. Currently a Nikon D750.

Probably while trying to clean it.

With WEX, they will say if the sensor has been scratched in the description, it refers mostly to the physical condition and the shutter count. I have bought many used cameras off of them in the past and have never had any issues, accept when I hadn't looked at the description properly!

An angle grinder should do it!

canon on ebay used to knock these out 2 years ago for £999 what happened to them as they seemed to stop selling them now?

When you read the description they sound pretty ropey.
How can a 9- have heavy scratches to screens?

Your just one of those people that has to find a fault in anylon deal that gets posted on here. WEX's return policy is that of the best I have ever encountered (especially for used stuff) you have 28 days to return incase you change your mind. Also if you don't want one with scratches to the screen - don't buy that one, buy another.

sounds like you're one of those people that cant have a bad word said about their deal and get all defensive

heavy scratches on screen is never a 9- ... and thats before any other flaws

yes this is a good deal if you read the description and know what you are getting but the comment about the rating was 100% true
on other cameras a 9- is light wear to grips, shine to edges, small scratches to screen, scratches round the tripod mount etc

i guess its because its the lowest shutter count of the cameras but that doesn't affect its 'condition' as such

also the comment about scratched sensor... all i looked at said 'The sensor is clean and free of dust, marks and scratches'

Many professionals don't necessarily treat their tools too kindly. Carefully, but not kindly.

Presumably the 5d mii can do crop mode with crop lenses.

no, canon efs or efm lenses will not mount, physically, on a full frame camera.
third party lenses will, but you will get heavy vignette and have to crop manually.

No.
