found this out legitmitaley, had 2 amazon warehouse items arrive at the weekend, and 1 the box was beaten to death - had an online chat they offered me 30% off.

another item was missing user manual, they offered me 30% off

just have a chat with them.,

it was £30 not 30% off amazon warehouse items and it's selected items over £100 this was deducted at checkout

Yeah but it's still no warranty from ASUS and ASUS are bad enough.. So what happens one year later, Amazon can't save you

I assume you dont use amazon much

ive had multiple items replaced after 12 months! ive even had full refunds for items after 12 months..

edit: do asus offer more than 12 month warranty anyway?

cold votes are from people who dont agree with paying this sort of money for a monitor,

but when your getting £300 of a £1000 item and potentionally another discount later

i'm currently sitting 800 mm away from a 32" monitor, it is positioned right at the edge of the desk. The real estate of this monitor is huge. That bring it way too close to be comfortable viewing.
Your X34a has the better stand so I will be going for something like that.

The X34A also has a massive footprint. 32cm deep and 58 cm wide.
No standard desk can accommodate it and also allow you to sit at your normal distance. Still a great monitor.

It will physically fit on the desk itself and your keyboard should comfortably fit on the 20cm remaining in front of the monitor.
The problem comes at sitting distance. You will probably find that you want to sit further back than you're able to otherwise taking in such a wide screen is difficult without excessive head movement.

I've got mine sitting on a 40cm deep shelf directly behind and level with my desk. This way I'm at least 70-80cm away from the screen itself which works nicely.
It would just be unusable otherwise imo.
Some planning is required for these untrawides. Perhaps look into wall mounting which is a popular workaround.

The X34A has a footprint but it's monitor is more recessed in to that depth, if you get what I mean.

I imagine you'll likely be half the distance away from the screen as me but if that works for you that's great. Welcome to the world of ultrawide Gysnc. There's nothing better.... right now (_;)

Ordered this item... expected it to arrive yesterday... took day off work... waited.... waited... would you believe it... LOST in transport!
Amazon will only refund me what it costs. Looks like i will never own one of these flashy monitors. Cant justify the outlay on it full priced.
Gutted...
